brickie, i believe so. i definitely remember seeing taylor and davis both play. not sure i saw them play against each other, but it would make sense that their final would have been on tv if anything was.

I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that for the longest time (and possibly still does) it held the record viewing figures for any programme after midnight.

the clip i just watched taylor said someone asked him how long he thought the frame lasted and he thought 20-25 minutes, but it was actually 68 minutes

There's no drama quite like a final frame decider in a major snooker final imho. And I've been lucky to experience quite a few.

I remember watching a frame in a final with Peter Ebdon playing which was like 80 mins long.

That was prob like 5 years ago.
