Well, the PT AFI is written in a really straightforward way, and thus I know definitively that to retake a failed PT test, your window is 42-90 days after failing. To retest earlier, you need commander approval. My EPR closes on day ~34, so I asked to retest thirteen days early (which would've been today, actually). My supervisor, NCOIC, chief, and others all supported me, but it didn't happen. I have my theories as to why, but they're not really relevant now.
So, I get an automatic referral EPR. I have absolutely no idea what that actually means. The EPR AFI is an incomprehensible mess, and the only thing that I have been able to cipher is that I won't promote (scheduled for January) and can't PCS as long as it's active. My squadron is shutting down and there are apparently no other 3D152 billets at Aviano (even in the comm squadron), so I have no idea how that will play out when the time comes.
Everyone's acted like I'm stuck with this EPR for 365 days. It'd be hella great if I could get a new one sometime, but no one's acted like that's an option
