Jim Nantz (of all ****ing people) said something like "[name of team] is saying 'We Take Care of Our Own,' as The Boss would say" during a game today. True story.

And Neil Everett quoted ****ing Thundercrack on Sportscenter the other day.

BRUUUUUUUUUUUCE!!

Specifically, he said "Her brains they rattle and her bones they quake, oh, she's the angle from the inner lake." I don't recall why.

I have not heard a bit of wrecking ball.
Sad fact.

I don't know what that sentence means, but the album is really damn good. "Shackled and Drawn" and "Easy Money" are great, particularly when driving 500 miles and blasting that **** at your rented Nissan Versa's max volume.

GOAT Springsteen album since "The Rising" imo. Maybe even GOAT post-"Born in the USA."

So I'm actually missing something having listened to none of the recent springsteen albums iyo?

The current one is really great imo. Magic and Working On a Dream are not as good, though there are some good songs imo. The Rising was his last great album imo. Devils and Dust and We Shall Overcome are both great, but very different than his E Street albums.

Seems like a fair assessment. I have a hard time dealing with trying to put classic-style music in a modern context without being cliche or just awful.

Well, Springsteen basically gives not a single ****, and he just gets a bunch of people together and says "I wrote this song. ****ing play it and we'll record it kthx." It's like bizarro-Axl Rose.

Axl and the boss...sounds like a sitcom.
David Axelrod and Tony Danza?

I'd watch that.

I'm listening to all of the songs from Wrecking Ball at once right now. It is like Springsteen industrial.
