Well in America, federal student loans don't have to be paid back while you're in school.
That and there is a similar program for soldiers downrange...but they also don't have to pay interest on credit cards while in the field.
My advice was always not to pay a cent on those debts and to simply put it in an interest bearing account or very safe I-bonds or T-bills or something.
