Ya, but they seem to be fairly accurate for me and most people, probably sort of a bell curve distribution. If you are having trouble losing weight when you think you are at a caloric deficit then I can understand the want.

I looked up reviews and feel like you're right. I'd be better served buying a heart rate monitor and using something like daily plate, apparently. Also doesn't take into account things like walking up a hill and added weights, etc, I guess.
