So a friend of mine just told me something that happened to someone we knew in high school. Apparently one kid has a street bike and there was something wrong with the handlebars so said kid and his friend fixed it up. So after they fix it, the kid's friend (not the one who owns the bike), was testing it out on the highway... GOING 80, and the handlebars locked up and he crashed and lost half his leg and severely damaged the other leg.

i worked with a kid who was struck by lightning riding his bike on the highway

iirc, has was in a short-lived coma, but woke up fine, except for being deaf in one ear

um seriously, i definitely thought it was stupid. but meh, it happened and hopefully the kid recovers as best as possible. i don't really know the kid (just know who he is), but it's a sad situation.
