hi
just a quick question, is it worth subscribing to the economist or is it better to just read the website, are the articles in the mag different to the ones online or does the wesite just take a few selected stories from each week??
thanks I ask because i dont have that much money to spend on a subscription and was wondering if i could just get away with reading online

You can mostly get away with reading it online, although having the paper copy is a nice convenience. There are a number of web-only articles that don't get printed, and I believe they withhold access from some articles for non-subscribers. But most of the core content is available for free.
If you want to research old articles about some particular subject (for example, if you for some reason became interested in the Tamil Tigers and the civil war in Sri Lanka or the history of the oil conflicts in southern Nigeria) the Economist's old articles are a fantasic resource.

I had a subscription to the Economist for like 3 months or so. I can't really remember, but I have to say, it's a ton of reading, and it's weekly. I don't like to just get a magazine to read a few articles so when I would get one I'd try to read it cover to cover. Next to impossible. If they only issued them once a month it wouldn't be so bad.
Unless you want the paper copy to take places with you I'd say just read it online.
