Hi,

I'd like to be able to calculate the variance or standard deviation for cash games for each limit in order to put some confidence intervals on my winrates.

Can PT3 do this?

I also use this stat and was very surprised PT3 didn't have it. Serious question...

Why would you guys release a software (and charge for it), before all of the 'basic' features were in place? Perhaps it's my own fault for assuming that PT3 would be everything the old PokerTracker was and MORE. I'm finding out it has a few new fancy features, but also has LESS of the features I used to use with the old product.

My PT3 is also crashing quite a lot. There seems to be something wrong with the import feature. I have to say, I'm disappointed. Mainly, because I didn't sing up for beta testing. These aren't just a few understandable bugs. When you purchase a released software, you should be able to expect it's main features to work and not be crashing constantly.

SD has not been added yet. Don't worry though, we haven't forgotten about it.

BUMP. Yet another customer wishing standard deviation / variance stats were available.

I know you have a lot of features on your plate ...

Actually, higher than SD/V on my wish list are improvements to the replay window:
  • sit here option (this should be almost trivial)
  • show pot equity when I have PT show me all known cards
  • show HUD stats by players in the replay window

I guess you folks are never at a loss for ideas with all the requests for features and improvements.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The 'sit me here' thing isn't trivial because the information about your new position isn't included in the hand history file, so PT3 has no way of knowing where you are on the table.

The other 2 suggestions are planned.

Is the standard deviation in PT2 accurate? I remember someone saying it wasn't, and I'd like to do some statistical testing.

.
My username and position relative to the button is known. What I'm asking is that I can configure the player to always put me in seat 5 of a player table (i.e. the bottom of the display). This is not the same as asking PT3 to remember where I was sitting when I actually played the hand.

example: if my username is "drop_dead_fred" are you telling me it is difficult to always display drop_dead_fred in position 5 of a 9 player table?

The sit here option has nothing to do with how the PokerStars client was configured during play. It has everything to do with putting the hero where the viewer expects him to be.

This should be trivial. If it does not seem trivial than I am simply doing a bad job of communicating what I mean or you are trying to make the feature fancier than it needs to be.

If you always sit in seat 5, why not use the 'preferred seating' option in Pokerstars, which *is* supported by PT3?
That said, if you always choose the same seat you can just configure PT3 to use that as your preferred seat anyway, and I guess that would work.
[In Beta 15] With auto import stopped, choose Pokerstars and click the config tab, then you can configure your preferred seat.

I agree with funkyj.. I think you're not really understanding his request.

He's simply asking that in the hand replaying in PT3.. that we be able to pick where we want to 'sit'

This isn't actually changing our actual seat, or anyone elses. It's just changing the view. (same as in stars). Basically you're rotating the table. Everyone is still sitting in the same seats/positions. It's relative.

For example... I actually DO use the 'preferred seating' option in the PokerStars client (and I'd imagine he does as well) but still, when you replay the hand in the hand replayer, we cannot choose the same option there, so we're always 'viewing' it the same way.

He's not talking about the HUD, he's talking about the replayer.

Sorry - you're right, I'd missed the fact that it was a request for the Replayer.
Yes, I think this will be possible when the Replayer gets an overhaul.
