When using the rush filter it only shows the one session I 've played since the upgrade. How do I move all the other 17,000 hands of Rush I've played to this new filter, thanks. Also there is not a filter for 25nl Rush just the 10nl. Is the 25nl Rush filter going to be in another upgrade?

Purge the old sessions and reimport the old hands (if you don't have the old hands, export first, then purge and reimport), and that should get them properly labeled so that they are available in your limit filter.

Best regards,

Derek

Thanks Derek, is this correct.......database-database management-export and then pick limits and dates and click export hands and then repeat the process for purge. (under export there is a box to click for hands per file, do I change this for the total hands I need to do). If this is all correct where are the HH exported to and how do I reimport them? I don't have the old hands anywhere apart from the PT3 database so I need to get this correct. Like 1 or 2 others here I'm useless with computers so very plain answers if you could please, thanks Roger.

I'm in the same boat, have about 20,000 rush hands that i want to reimport, so step-by-step instructions please. hud works fine - good job.

You probably still have the hand history files in the PokerTracker 3\Processed folder, but if you don't then make sure you export the hands before purging them!

Roger, your walkthrough is correct. When you click the Export button it will prompt you to choose a save location.

Once all of the hands are purged, the easiest way to reimport is to use the Import From Directory button on the Manual Import tab.

Just did the upgrade, etc. I don't see a Rush filter nor individual sessions and all still says 10nl for Rush. I do see the Rush HUD option though. Do I need to perform the same procedure as Roger for all of the old 25K hands? If so, will I need to do a complete housekeeping? Just did that yesterday and updated my cache today after the upgrade. Thanks!

Yes, and yes - you will need to purge and re-import, and re-run housekeeping for optimum performance.

Ok, tried but not working. I exported all of the hands. Once I select "Purge" before going to the advanced tab, PT becomes a resource hog...actually watched it thru Task Mgr and it shoots from 175K to 492K without even starting to purge...and eventually locks up. 1st try was all sessions in Rush (25K hands), tried a few times and each time had to shut down with Task Mgr. Then I tried just purging one day of sessions and still same thing.. The purge window eventually comes up showing the following:

Elapsed Time: 0:13:59
Estimated Time: 1492:57:14

Is this my laptop not being able to handle whatever PT is trying to do? Win Vista 2GB Ram/9GB Free HD Space/ less than 200K hands in PT3 DB

Purge has a lot of work to do, so is quite a slow process - the estimated time is a huge over-estimate, though, so it won't take that long. If your laptop only has a 5400rpm hard disk then that won't help performance. You'll probably want to defragment it too, that helps somewhat.
You may find that the best thing to do is to create a new database purely for your Rush hands - this will help HUD perforumance on Rush tables, especially on a slower system. (You would then still want to purge the rush hands from your main database at some point, but that could be done later.)

Performance of the Rush HUD is very good actually. My main problem is getting it to purge the old Rush hands. As stated PT gets the RAM usage up close to 500K after selecting the Purge function even before I select "what" to purge in the advanced tab and the actual purge process. Then once I start the purge, it locks PC & PT up.

It's likely not actually locked up just working awfully hard. Let your computer sit in that state for a while (like, give it an hour or so, or even better let it sit there overnight) and you'll likely see progress eventually.

You're correct. I let it sit overnight and it did its thing. I suppose my laptop just couldn't handle anything else going on at the same time even moving my mouse.

Lastly, PT3 had the message that the purge was completed but I see that there are still 893 hands left under the filter for 10nl for some sporadic Rush sessions. Possible that it missed some or just left some duplicates? Do I need to purge all over again or can I re-import now?
02-02-2010 , 01:09 PM
If you don't purge those sporadic sessions, they won't be reimported properly. If you don't care, go ahead and reimport; if you do care, specifically purge those sessions first before reimporting.
