Anyone else getting this message when trying to use PT?

"PokerTracker was not able to verify your registration. Would you like to continue in trial mode?!"

Registration problem?

yeah, I'm getting the exact same thing. Tried going to their site, but it appears to be down. That's probably why the registrations can't be verified.

It happended to me last night and after filling out a ticket I got news back from PT support that the problem is most likely interference from my Norton Security software. When the security settings are enabled PT build V.5 cannot run. When those security settings are disabled PT runs fine. I've heard that upgrading to Norton 2009 solves the problem but am not convinced since this whole thing has been one huge headache. Now I think I may have lost my entire database from V.4 and am thoroughly frustrated. UGGGHHH!!!!

Hi,

I am getting the error too!!!! So frusterating! How do we fix this?

Try disabling your firewall temporarily while you start PT3.
If that works, then you'll need to configure your firewall to allow PT3 access.

Have tried disabling both my antivirus and firewall and it does not work. It worked fine yesterday when I upgraded to build 5... What has changed in the last 12 hours?
(can't access the website either)

Seems like they have problems.

We are currently investigating what caused the main webserver outage. It is currently still out, but I have contacted the people who can get it fixed and they should be able to get things back up and running shortly.

In the meantime, it should not affect your ability to use PT3.

For those Norton users still experiencing trouble, please try reinstalling Norton as that may resolve things for you.

I am having same problem with PT3 registration. I am using PT3 V3.00 Beta 27.1. Nothing on my pc has changed since yesterday. After seeing some comments here, i disabled Norton 360 and tried again, but get exactly the same problem. I have no intention of uninstalling Norton 360 to resolve a problem caused by PT3. If this is the best suggestion you have, I would rather have a refund of my subscription and use another tool.

Somehow it does... pt3 is not able to verify the registration.
and its not due to norton or anything (i briefly disabled everything...)

If you try entering your registration code again, it should work fine. Our servers are back up and running normally.

The problem was that because the server was returning an error message, PT3 assumed all was well and overwrote your old (working) license information with the error message. This meant when PT3 went to check it, it didn't find what it was expecting. This had never happened before, which is why we never caught it in the past.

We apologize for this and will be putting a fix for it out in our next release. This problem should never happen again.
can we please get this update now, its been almost 6 weeks since the last time this has happened

until then i would advise everyone to get pt3 working again, then block any outgoing connections from pt3 until this is fixed. it wont affect anything unless you use tabletracker.

I believe this was fixed - have you updated to Build 5?

Download page
PT3 Build History / Release Notes

Please read the release notes as there have been some significant changes in recent versions.

I have updated to build 5 and i can't get it to accept my registation code. This is very frustrating.
07-10-2009 , 02:24 PM
as far as i know there were people with build 5 who were unable to use pt3 last night when the verification server went down
07-10-2009 , 02:28 PM
It is giving me a message saying Symantec Service Framework stopping working and was closerd. I don't know if that has something to do with why I am getting this stupid trial version to keep coming up or why it won't just re-verify my registration code, but this is becoming really frustrating. If I could get any help on how the heck to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.
07-10-2009 , 02:45 PM
ok I got it to start up, but what the heck happened to my database? It is completely gone, should I try to hit up FT to get a file of my hand histories from Jan 1st? That would actually give me a complete overview of my play rather then just the last month or so since I got PT3. I am not sure about the process I need to go through, but I do want/need my database back.

standouts,

Click Database --> Database Management --> New and then Browse Databases. Look for your old database there and connect to it, and set it to active and default and it should work properly.
07-10-2009 , 07:42 PM
Hey thanks a lot man I just got it back, but not I am thinkin about how I want the whole beginning of my year back as well since I didn't have PT3 then. I asked FT to hit me up with the file with all my hand histories from the beginning of the year. Hopefully I can get it all sorted out so I can have a good new database going with a lot more info.
