PT/PA: SQL error

My database used to work for like 2 years, I didin't change anything. But since yesterday, I only receive an "unable to connect to db" error once I start PT/PA.
I already restarted the computer/service, but nothing changed. I also tried to google the problem, but no solution came up. FWIW I'm using PostgresSQL 8.2.
