After PT3 auto imports and moves hands to the processed folder do I need to keep all of these files on my HD? From my understanding, once processed PT no longer "needs" these files. Can I back these up onto a flash drive, CD, etc to free up HD space?

You can feel free to archive these files not on your HD to save space. PT3 doesn't delete them so that you can decide to do with them what you will. You'll only need them again if you need to reimport them somewhere.

I'll kick the dead horse a few times by pointing out that after import, the complete hand history is in the SQL database PT3 uses. You should back this DB up if it is important to you.

Assuming you back up the PT3 DB regularly, the only reason not to delete the processed hands is because you might want to re-import them (e.g. purge rush hands from your DB because they are not categorized as 'rush', and then reimport with the new version of PT3 that categorizes rush hands into their own class).

Myself, I just delete the processed hands periodically.
