Yesterday I tried to download the newest Beta12 version. Since that didnt work properly, I decided to uninstall PT3 and postgreSQL manually and tried to simply install beta12 (with postgreSQL). However, I keep on getting the following message:
Quote:
The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user "SYSTEM".
This user must also own the server process.

The database cluster will be initialized with locale English_United States.1252.
The default text search configuration will be set to "english".

initdb: directory "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data" exists but is not empty
If you want to create a new database system, either remove or empty
the directory "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data" or run initdb
with an argument other than "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data".

I get this message trying to install the newest version of pt3 and the older version released may 16th. Is this is common problem? Does anybody have an understandable solution?

Thanks in advance and plz keep answers simple as i am a computer noob. I have a pretty new notebook that runs with vista

Stan,

Make sure that User Access Control is turned off.

You can find a tutorial on how to do this at: Tutorial: Vista-How to Disable 'User Account Control' (UAC)

Also, from the error message it sounds like you'd already had PostgreSQL installed. If so you don't need to install it again; it's a one time installation. You can upgrade PokerTracker 3 by downloading the version WITHOUT PostgreSQL and installing it.
