For some reason, whenever I press begin import, the following message appears: "Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to connect to database: PokerTracker 3 Database." I am unable to get HUD stats or even view my past data. It was working fine a few hours ago, but then spontaneously stopped working. I closed the program and restarted it several times, with the same results. I tried updating to the new version but that didn't help either.

Never mind. Problem resolved, although I have no idea how or why.

Try restarting your computer; several people have had that error today due to a Windows update, and restarting the computer fixed the problem for them.
