I am having trouble getting past the password request screen during installation. I used PT about a year ago and unistalled the program. Just reinstalled that and postgresql but it won't let me get beyond the password. I've tried to use dbpass, as well as trying to go into config files settings, but since I haven't installed it yet, there is nothing there. What should I do?

If you run the Full PT3 installer it should set postgres up for you, but if you need to do it manually then you need to supply a complex password. This needs to contain at least one upper case and one lower case letter, one number and one symbol.

or try svcpass as described in the setup guide, maybe that's the one you used?

After spending 10 f***ing hours dealing with that same sh*t I found it out, try "darwin" And send me two buy-ins for my troubles >.< jk

i had a pw generated randomly, so I couldnt install SQL.
on holdem manager forum SQL threat page 12 its explained how to erase excisting sql accounts.

Start --> Run (if you're on windows xp) --> type CMD and hit enter.

At the prompt type:
net user postgres /delete

That will delete the postgres user and you can recreate it by reinstalling PostgreSQL 8.3
