postgres question

hey all,
not a complaint post!
anyways, i am pretty clutzie when it comes to software type stuff and want to make sure i am not screwing anything up. when i run pt3 it has ~4 instances of postgres running in my windows task manager, 2-3 of then usuing up 25k+ in mem usage. is this due to how i have stuff set up, or is it normal?
