I'm trying to install Postgres through PT3 but everytime I get the message that my password is too short or not complex enough. I'm on a vista and have changed the password requirements to make it easier, I've also downloaded Service Pack 2, and I've also disabled UAC as per the notice.

Please help?

PT3 should set everything up for you, but if you're installing manually please follow the How to reinstall PostgreSQL guide.

same result. "User 'postgres' could not be created. The password is too short or not complex enough.!".

the manual says that it will only fail due to 1 of 2 conditions; either I didn't properly remove postgres or I'm not the administrator. however i've never successfully installed postgres because of this recurring problem, and i am certainly the administrator ...

Is there a reason that you need to install postgres manually? The PT3 installer should set everything up for you when you run it.
If that doesn't work please create a Support ticket and report your problem and one of our support techs will get you sorted.
