Looking at my Processes from Task Manager, it looks like I have 12 SEPARATE instances of it running. Is that right?

Yes. PostgreSQL uses multiple connections to manage the database and it is normal to see plenty of postgres processes.

Ok then - I just closed PT3 (and all other app's) then restarted my computer.

There are 6 instances of postgres.exe running, along with one pg_ctl.exe (under the user name "postres") running.

Is that normal?

Yes. PostgreSQL likes to have a lot of processes running. One is the writer, one is the stats collector, one is the logger, one is the write ahead log, and one is the autovacuum daemon.

They really are all supposed to be running.

If you want to turn PostgreSQL off completely click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Stop Services, but you will need to turn it back on before you can start using PT3.

Why do I have 13 instances of Postgres.exe running in my TaskManager? With 2 PokerTracker.exe running.

What a system hog, that seems a little excessive. I want to have OP six. =)
