I currently run a Linux server in my home that has Postgres DB server installed for other uses. I have already tried the Beta version with my server and all seems to work.

My current laptop hard drive is about to be upgraded to a larger hard drive size for dual booting, both Linux and Vista or Linux and XP. If at a later time I do upgrade my hard drive, how can I re-install PokerTracker3 on to my laptop again?

What are the procedures for doing such a thing?

The best solution for you is to simply house all of your databases on your server.

On your laptop, install the version WITHOUT PostgreSQL (since you won't be needing it), then connect to postgres remotely.

As of right now, the only way to back up your HUD settings is to copy the Layout.pt3 file manually to somewhere else. This functionality should be getting an upgrade in the not too distant future.

But if you have the database housed elsewhere, you won't need to make any changes to it when upgrading your HD. Make sure you uninstall PT3 before changing HDs so as not to have registration code conflicts, then use your same registration code when reinstalling later. You shouldn't have any trouble.
