i just upgraded to the new version beta 30.6 and now PT 3 will not work. The logo pops up and then doesnt operate, can you please help me fix this??

has any body else encountered this problem? i was using build 5.2 for the longest time and decided to upgrade and now it just doesnt open up. what am i suppose to do and has anyone been able to fix this

Please reboot your computer then re-run the Beta 30.7 installer (new version released last night with further fixes).
When you first run it it will need to update your databases so make sure you allow some time for this.

If it still won't run please report your problem so that we can investigate.

Be extremely patient. It is probably just updating your databases and rebuilding your cache. You should probably run the "PokerTracker 3 (Enable Logging)" short cut so that you can monitor the progress via the logfile.

can we have an estimate of the time we should wait? i waited 5 mins and then ctrl-alt-del it. Is my life over because i closed it during processed or can i just rerun it ok?

If anybody can reproduce these long opening times with logging enabled and send us the log file via the support system we would really, really appreciate it.

After my update to Beta 30.7 the logo stayed on for just under an hour before PT3 started.. the ONLY reason I knew to let it be until it started was this thread.

But how does one enable logging before the program starts, I mean stalls, and then starts.., is there a command line option?

Actually, in your Start -> Programs -> PT3 folder, there's a selection that will start PT3 with logging enabled.

IC.. In Vista I never seem to go into Program folders.. just use the start menu / search. Oh well its running now.

The only clue I can give you is that the hour delay on first run was on my laptop while the database resides on my desktop on the home network. When I download, installed and then ran the beta on my desktop (a week later) it started right up with no delay.

That makes sense - that first long run is updating the cache on your database. Once that has been done it isn't done again.

i waited for 2 hrs for it to start so i finally gave up and used the task manager and now i am trying the same thing with logging enabled. dont know what to do if i cant get this working

I've heard that installing Beta 30.5 first, letting it start up once, then upgrading to Beta 30.7 may work around this problem, so it might be something for you to try.

i ended up running with logging enabled and about 30mins later it opened up so we are good for the time being. thanks for all your help

Ya i am having the same problem as well. I guess the answer is to just wait it out and hope for the best. Wish I never updated prob a waste of time :-( Hope the Rush HUD is worth it lol
