Me being a fish looking to better my game I tried to find a simple table of odds for various situations that I could refer to as I play online.
I stumbled across Poker Tracker (not purchased) & thought wow this looks great. However, after thinking on it for a while realised that I have never ever progressed to a final table without certain things happening. One of these things is that I have to call bets against the odds. The other is I always get lucky at some point.

I presume poker tracker will just tell you to fold nearly all the time as the pot odds offered by the good players are nearly always forcing me to make a mistake. Is it just a gimmick for somebody to get rich on or is it a value product?

Or am I the only mug not using these add on help programs?

I must admit I can be sure that after looking on the newly found sharkscope I found my self to be down a fortune This loss is only in cash games however as I believe I am up in tournament play judging from officialpokerrankings.com (recomendations on reading welcome)

And whats that all about? Do these programs all work on Poker Stars where I have more recently moved to from Party Poker or am I a geniune loser

I know I need to keep reading to improve but the artificial intelligence seems I might be lagging behind after reading all the books on the shelf.

marsh, 90 people, viewed and no response, ok, i will take the bait.

needless to say u called yourself a fish, and i do think u are being sincere, so i would say, YES, poker tracker is a great tool. incredible actually.

let start by saying if at a live game you could have all the information u get from poker tracker you would take it imediately. it has a hand replay system, iyt tells u your winning percentage of all your starting cards. it is a great program, and i would think if it was free every person would use it.

hope that helps

Not cashgame. Sharkscope shows you SnG (1-table and multi-table). officialpokerrankings showns MMT and multi-table SnG:s

ChuckyB, Thanks for the advise and yes I was being honest about me being a fish.
Is it legal to use Poker Tracker on PokerStars or Party Poker though?

In response to misternils, about 50 tournaments (last 120 days)and to be honest its only due to 2 large wins I am anywhere near up in tournys i think.

In response to your second statement about the difference between sharkscope & OPR, I am not following your line of thought entirely. But I would like to ask What is mmt?
Also do both sites include cash & tournys?

Regards M

No its highly illegal. You carry on the way you are. Good piece of advice thio: use a Silver Dollar. (kicks poker trackers arse) In tough spots i generally find that two eagles in a row and I'll win the hand.

Marsh, PT doesn't give u odds while your playing. It gives you information on your opponents. You can analyze your play after your session and see where your winning and losing money. It is legal on PS and FT.

Start here, this should give you an idea of what is allowed on Stars. Oh and i should say that if you are planning on playing in cash games HoldemManager > PokerTracker
