I am thinking seriously of getting a macbook pro. The only thing holding me back is wondering how PT3 and a mac interact. I have grown quite fond of PT3 and the amount of information that I can go back and check. I don't want to lose my database or lose any of the ease of operation and reliability that I have now.

I've tried searching and have not found anything definitive - how is the reliability of PT3 for mac compared to the latest beta windows version (which I love)?

Thanks,

Zach

In my experience on the Mac I have here it's quite solid - you can backup and transfer your database and other settings using the backup and restore features in Beta 30.8, so all of your data will go across. There are still a few things here and there that need working out (no Rush HUD for one), and you'll want to make sure you get a faster hard drive just for the general performance boost, but it should be plenty solid for normal use.

Thanks for the reply - I appreciate the help. Are the charts and interfaces the same as on the windows based software?

Somewhat related - I thought I didn;t get much control over what harddrive was installed in a mac...?

Do you have any screen shots?

Yes, PT3's functionality is the same on Mac (other than a few minor issues as Kraada said).

So PT3 for Mac is now working properly and fully fuctional? I know they released the original BETA version and users were having a hell of a time with it in the beginning, So can someone let me know what the advantages and disadvantages of PT3 for Mac are?

The Mac version is still officially only in Beta but is now pretty stable. There are no "advantages" to the Mac version over the PC version other than not needing to use a virtual machine or dual boot - it is native Mac software and works with the Mac versions of the poker sites' software. (Exception - the HUD does not work with the Mac version of the OnGame software due to a bug in their software.)
