Every time I try to review a hand PT3 freezes. Sometimes it's when the hand is opening up, sometimes in the middle of the hand or when I try and close out the window it freezes up.

What version of PT3 are you using? (see the title bar of PT3)
How big is your database?
If you leave it for a few minutes does it come back?

40,000 hands all housekeeping updated
yes after a few minutes it unfreezes

The Replayer cannot use the cache because stats are shown from the time the hand was played, but I wouldn't expect it to take that long in a database of that size.
Do you only have that one database?

Please enable logging, reproduce this (leave it to complete) and report your problem so that we can investigate.
