Auto request tourneys. All goes well. I go to manually enter and most go through ok, but my extra large tourneys just ding and then PT freezes. I have to end task and restart and these are the errors I'm getting:

Unable to determine player name [Text = « ©hë®®ÿ] in finish postion 828 for tournament number 88687512.

I'm running 2.17.02a

I don't mind not having some tourney records but the lockups are really nervewracking.

These errors are not what are causing the problem. If these are huge PokerStars tournaments then you should click the Customize Summary Info. To Import button on the File > Tournament Results - Manual Entry > PokerStars window and tell it to just record your own results along with just those that won money or that you have played against. This way it won't have to record every single player name.

I'll try that. Thanks for all your help and great software!

I changed it to the suggestion above but the same problem exists. Any tourneys over 2k people lock up PT. I have to end task and start over again.

How long are you letting it run? If you have a huge number of players because you have been importing every single name before this then it's going to take longer to run. Are you using the "only won money" option?

I tried the in the money and hands with me option. I'll try just in the money. It will go through the list of players, once it completes all the players it gives a ding like an error popup, yet theres no error. I've let it sit 30 min before just to make sure and it's (PT) is just completely locked up.

any ideas what this bug is?

You said you were going to try it with just "in the money" selected. What happened when you did this?

Use the Utilities > Repair A Poker Database option and see if that helps.

If it still does the same thing, open the File > Maintain Database Names window and double-click on the name of the db you have these issues with. What is the file size and name of the file that shows in the window that opens?

Repair option doesn't apply, I'm using Postgres. The only DB is My New Database that was created a couple weeks ago (I started out from scratch). The size isn't there but it is small ( maybe 50 thousand hands?).

Then open the Utilities > PostgreSQL Database Functions window and use the FULL Vacuum/Analyze option there and then try it again.

Did the Full Vacuum/Analyze, completed succesfully, same problem though.

Use the Utilities > PostgreSQL Database Functions window to backup the database.

Send me a support ticket here

referencing this thread and let me know the size of the backup file that is created so I can tell you how to send it to me.

It has been submitted with my registration codes. The DB was only 11MB (it's fairly new) so I went ahead and attached it to the support ticket. Thanks for your help with this.

Hi again, I didn't get a reply from you on the support system so I'll reply here. I downloaded your db and restored it on my computer. I requested a summary with 3000+ name for one of your tournaments and imported it.

I imported it twice, once using the "Only players in the $" option and the once using the "only won $ or played against" option.

Both options finish fine for me with no freezing and doesn't take more than 15 seconds or so on the "won $ or played against" option which will take a little longer than with just the "won $" option.

Can you give me a specific tournament ID that freezes up on you so I can test that one?
