Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3 DB). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Under database management it says Server: localhost; Port: 5432. What should I do?

These errors will occur if your PostgreSQL database is not running. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Stop Service, then Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Start Service to restart the PostgreSQL server. If PostgreSQL does not start properly, click Start --> Find Files/Folders and search for a file named postmaster.pid on the partition where PostgreSQL is installed. Once you find that file, delete it, then restart PostgreSQL as above, and it will start properly.

What's your exact error message? Please check if your PostgreSQL server is running by going to task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL), then go to the "processes" tab and look for any processes called "postgres" in the list.

I have the same error message as above. It seems my PostgreSQL is having trouble starting, because as you say there is no process running, even when I choose to start the service.

Did you search for and try deleting the postmaster.pid file? That's the most common reason for PostgreSQL not being able to start.

When I try to search for the file, it doesn't find it. Is there a common location or a better way to search for it? I'm running on vista.

By default it's located at C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data.

This seems to have done the trick. Thanks, I don't know why I couldn't find it when I searched. Is there a search app similar to that of Windows XP on Vista? Because every time I went to the C Drive and searched "postmaster.pid" in the top right, nothing was found.

I'm not 100% sure as I've never run Vista personally; perhaps there's a setting to search hidden files/folders/different types of files? If I find anything out about it I'll let you know . . .

That file is created while PostgreSQL is running, and if it's present when you attempt to start postgres, it thinks it's already running so aborts (which is why deleting it to restart when it's not running works

I am alsom using Vista and could first not find this postmaster file. Buty finaly i did manage to find it and delete it.

Now Pokertracker works again, almost, the only stats I can not get now isthe PLAYER SUMMARY stats . it says...unable to execute query SELECT/holdem table session, summary id limit .

What can I do to fix this thanks?
08-16-2008 , 11:15 AM
I can now see that HANDS also are not working.
08-16-2008 , 11:18 AM
Please open a support request on our support system, but before you submit it, please attach a copy of your PokerTracker.log file containing the SQL error. You need to have logging enabled (Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled needs to be checked) in order for this file to be written, so if it is not, please enable it and restart PT3, then recreate this error message.

The PokerTracker.log file is located in C:/Program Files/PokerTracker 3/ (note: not the log subdirectory) and may appear as a text file.

Now it is working, I just had to stop/start it againg, and then REFRESH a couple of times. Do you believe it is going to continue to work now?

Thanks!
