Hi!

I downloaded trial version of PT a few days ago and intend to buy when the trial is over.
It seems that I can`t import observed hands. Is that a limitation on trial version or did I just not find out yet how to do it properly (import observed hands got a mark but cannot be changed).

Thanks for your replies!

The trial version isn't limited in this fashion, but how to import observed hands varies by site; what site are you playing at?

Hi Kraada, thx for your reply!

I play at titan poiker (ipoker), I hope that`s ok since this site seems site to be poker stars related. But I tend to add another account at ps anyway. I prefer to play 1 table SNG >=100$ and ps has more players there.
Just waiting for a good start offer=)
Is there anything I can do to import observed hands during trial already (time is money))? HUD doenst open either at observed tables.

As Kraada mentioned, this has nothing to do with PT3 being in trial mode. Most poker sites doesn't allow datamining and therefore doesn't save the hand history files from observed tables to your hard drive. Therefore, these hands can't get imported. One exception is Full Tilt who saved observed hands to the hard drive, but they've recently changed their stance vs datamining as well and stated that it's not allowed.

For iPoker datamining, you could check out EyePoker.

Peligroso,

thx for your reply!
I see the point now, how to import files that don`t exist...
Thanks for your advice to take a look at EyePoker, I just have to decide now if data mining is worth 45$ but I guess that`s an easy decision.

Good luck and fun to you!

Also, I believe the trial will only let you import 1000 hands? (at least thats the way it used to be)
so datamining with the trial and that limited import would be a pretty silly idea.

Probably best to use your import feature for your own actual hands, so you can analyze your play and decide if you like the software before you got mining 1,000s of hands

I imported 120000 hands out of my hand history folder immediately after installing and another 30000 since them, so that limitation doesnt seem to exist anymore also I read about it also.
But i got another question now (maybe limitation, maybe missing knowledge):
I dont get the note editor visible on HUD, neither by using a group for its own nor by poutting the note editor stat in another group.
Can you tell me what I do wrong please?

The PT3 trial is for 60 days and does NOT limit the number of hands you can import.

The Note Editor stat will not work in a group on it's own (this is a known issue and will be addressed in a future version) but it should work in a group with other 'real' stats.
If you select your Player Stats group, for instance, and go to the Stats tab then 'Special' and double-click the Note Editor it should add it to the list on the right, then when you OK it the Note Editor should appear in your HUD after the HUD redraws. If you do this from the table PT-icon -> Configure Stats make sure you then PT-icon -> Save Layout.

Use "iPoker Hand Grabber"
It's free for now.

on Full Tilt, it is not possible so save observed hand histories?
04-01-2009 , 10:04 AM
Full Tilt writes hand histories for observed tables whenever you have it configured to save hand histories. The observed hands are written to the HandHistory folder, not the [playername] subfolder so you should configure PT3 to import from there.

i dont have a hand history subfolder in my fulltilt folder on my comp. should there beone there for observed hands? do i need to create it?

pt3 tells me that FT is not config'd to save HHs to disk, but i have FT set to save HHs... sorry, a little confused.

i have no prob with auto import so far as i can tell.

PM me if you can

Where are the hand history files for your played hands being saved to?
04-01-2009 , 09:22 PM
it's working fine now. i followed your initial advice, then actually went to the poker tracker web site (gasp) and followed the directions. i got it set up and it's tracking my play and the tables i observe. thanks.

p.s. is this a violation of full tilt's terms to observe tables and save the info?
04-02-2009 , 04:11 AM
Our understand is that if you have a few tables open while you decide what table to play that's fine; but if you have the maximum number of tables open 24/7 they may warn you. I haven't heard of any action being taken yet, though.
