How important is this. I can vacuum, analyze and cluster ok but my pc crashes (blue screen) every time I try to update the cache in housekeeping. I don't think the problem is to do with PT3 as the same thing happens with disk clean up and when I run a full virus scan. So until I can get my pc looked at my cache status is steadily decreasing, now at 52%. So how does this effect the running of PT3 and the HUD? Thanks

It does make things generally slower.

I'd be more worried about the status of your system - that sort of crash happening when doing large amounts of disk i/o implies that your hard drive is going. I'd recommend at a very minimum taking a backup of everything you care about on the machine.

You might also want to try checking your disk for errors and bad sectors - if there are bad sectors that can be quarantined you may be able to get more time out of that drive before it finally goes.
