Hi there. I just tried to log into PT3 beta 16 which I have been running for about 5 days. I play cash games on Stars. When the program opens, I get a lot of red writing throughout the different fields under the general, hands and sessions tabs. The position, vs player and graph tabs all seem to work just fine. The error message that comes up says-

"Unable to login to database (PT3 DB). Reason: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request."

I've tried restarting and doing the housekeeping function without success. I don't remember my system crashing or other problems while running PT3 since I last opened it.

Thanks in advance for any help. Is my original database lost? What can I do if anything to fix this error? Thanks again.

The same error is coming up as I try to play on a table now. I can't import new hands as played. It says, "Unable to begin feeder import process.", with the same reason as above given.

This means that postgres isn't running.
Please try starting the postgres service: Start -> Programs -> PostgreSQL -> Start Service.
If that, and a reboot doesn't work, try stopping the service (Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Stop Service), running a search on your computer for postmaster.pid and then deleting that file, then restarting the service and see if that helps.
Note that you may need to turn on 'View hidden files and folders', and the file seems to be in the folder './Program Files/postgresql/<version>/data'.
