1. I saw it now supports Stars...So what sites does TT work for now?

2. FAR more importantly, does TT yet have multi-DB capability? I have large DBs, but only 1 for each site...this is obv a problem for TT, b/c it can only read stats from a single DB (last i checked) . I heard multi-DB support was coming...is it here yet? If not, is there anything I can do to get around this problem? i.e. is there a way to run TT, for example, having it read from my Stars DB...and then quickly switch it over and have it read from my Everest DB in a table search right afterward?

(1) TableTracker currently works for all supported PokerTracker 3 sites. We hope to continue in this fashion, as well. See our supported sites list.

(2) I believe multi-db support for TableTracker has been fixed but I am not 100% on that. However, TT reads from whichever databases the HUD is set to read from, so by switching the HUD configuration around you can get TT to read from just one database of your choosing in that fashion.

Incidentally, unlike PT2, PT3 should work well with one reasonable sized 'play' database across multiple sites. You no longer need to split databases up by site; we have had people with functioning databases well into the millions (I think 25M is the biggest I've heard of). So you could put all of your played hands into one database and that should help with this, also.

25M??
I generally keep my DBs to 800,000 - 1.2M, and it already takes long as hell when i want to open them up and browse the stats...and i've got a pretty speedy computer. Well, actually that's another good Q...it's in PT2 that it takes a while to browse the stats with DBs that big...will it be substantially faster in PT3?

Yes, PT3 is definitely much faster than PT2 in this regard.

And for the record, it's not the speed of your computer that matters, but the speed of your hard drive. Reading all of the data in from the HD is the current bottleneck; getting faster HDs will help more than upgrading the CPU/RAM. (Or, if you're really hardcore, getting multiple speedy HDs and using Raid 1+0.)

The fastest import speeds I've heard of was 350h/sec (by a multi-hd power user , personally i get in the 50h/sec range using a standard 7200 rpm HD. And unless I'm running complicated reports on my ~1M hand DB everything is pretty snappy.

Hmmm....can you describe, then, how I migh too become a multi-HD poweruser of PT? I've got a fairly fast computer but only the HD that came with it from Dell. I would venture to say that there are few others who have as many PT DBs and HHs as I do, so it seems like i would benefit as much as anyone from another HD if it would significantly improve PT performance.

I don't know much about the tech specs of top of the line HDs...what specs should I look for in picking out a second one...can it be external or must it be internal?

is there a way we can get a "fish score" and rank the tables this way?

teddy:

I haven't done extensive research into the specific brands of hard drive or RAID cards, but the idea is to get an internal RAID card and make a RAID 1+0 array. See the wikipedia entry on RAID for more on the general idea and the article on nested RAID for more on RAID 1+0. You need at least 4 drives for this to work, and an even number if you want more than that.
RAID 10 Capacity: (Size of Smallest Drive) * (Number of Drives) / 2

So if you had 4 x 300G drives, you'd have 600G of actual storage and the speeds would be very impressive.

Andrew:

This feature will be implemented. At the moment the best way to work something like this out is to create a custom statistic that gives the score you want and show it in the Table Detail report of TableTracker. One small side bonus, though, is that you can then display the fish score right on the table while playing.
07-08-2008 , 09:37 AM
Wow, think that may be beyond my understasnding at this point...

By the way, is there any reason TT would not be working right now?
I'm searching Everest, any 5/10 and up NL tables, and it's only returning a SINGLE heads-up table, even tho i'm looking in the everest lobby and there are at least 6 tables that fit my search criteria...

Are you sure you haven't selected limit tables by accident? That seems to be the most common reason for this sort of complaint . . .

(And I did warn you it was really hardcore

how do i create custom statistics?

Configure --> Statistics opens up the custom statistics interface.

For more information on how to create custom statistics from there, see our Custom Statistics Guide.
