four flush river - do I bet or induce? four flush river - do I bet or induce?

Is this a bad riverbet?

Villain is unknown, we´ve played 5 hands but no read yet.

What I´m thinking is that most villains will probably bet turn with and K, J, T (maybe even lower pairs as a free SD bet) and good draws so when he checks I´m basically trying to win a bet from a lower diamond or maybe an 8x hand. Would it be better to induce?

5/10 Limit Holdem
2 players

Pre-flop: (1.5 SB, 2 players) Hero is BB A 6
BTN raises, Hero calls

Flop: K 8 T (4.0 SB, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets, Hero calls

Turn: J (3.0 BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: 3 (3.0 BB, 2 players)
Hero bets

After the turn goes check/check I think that the best plan is to try to induce on the river for the reasons you mentioned. As a bonus, you get to see if the villain is going to go check/check on scary boards and basically give up after a flop float and let you see showdowns cheaply if you both have marginal hands.

Basically you are only getting called with so few worse hands here, but you are possibly inducing a bet from his entire range. If BTN had bet the turn, I think you could donk river, though you can't really b/f against an unknown here.

I think you are likely seeing larger flushes here quite a bit.

This is def a check call for me.

I see guys take a shot at the river all the time in this situation.

Villain is unknown... so check the river and you get to see his hand.

What's he calling that you beat? Considering he didn't bet turn, i.e. no he's not paired with the board, anyone who was def bets that turn (I hope?!). Unlikely to bluff too if checked to, a river bet from him will more often than not show a better flush but still I think that's the best option. Interesting situation though, applicable to all sorts of draw-making rivers.

Would just like to point out that he should be pretty unlikely to raise also, right? Maybe less then 15% of the time? So a bet also works as a blocking bet where you get value from some worse even though you´re often beat when called. And he will never check behind better. And this should make it even closer, no?

But I do agree that c/c is prolly best here!

I think you have the best line figured out!
And you are indeed getting called by worse, I dont like the check call line, just bet it.

He probably got to call A-high against skrotis and A-high is def. in villains turncheckrange, isnt it?

I think your bet looks a lot like a bluff (since you checked the turn) so I would b/c this river.
