So it used to be any room 400/500 or less would be brought down to the poker room rate of 119/159, whether it be Concierge or some fancy room. Now they say it must be a Bella or Luxury suite in the Palazzo or Venetian and that it shouldn't be a Concierge or Prestige room. However, people in another thread (old) mentioned that they had mixed results with the Palazzo Prestige (fancy word for Concierge) rooms when booking online and trying to get the poker rate later on.

Does anyone have any recent experience with this (like the last few months I suppose)?

Thanks

Also, if you were successful, how did you book and what did you say?

Surely someone has gone recently and attempted this!

Surely someone other than me who has posted in this thread can use the search function. I mean, there were like 10,000,000 threads on this topic. Also, check the V website. It's pretty informative.

Indeed, I did use the search function, and I checked each thread post by post, but most of the information was dated and contradictory. I stated above what the V website said, but as per some the contradictory anecdotes, some people said it was still possible. Considering that the original change happened on April 1st, and the language about the Concierge added even after that, I figured it was ok to bring up a new thread. Just seeing if anyone else has tried.

Or should I have posted a thread about going pro and asking if it was a good idea instead?

If you have read all of those threads and the V website then the answer to whatever question you have is: if you booked prior to the change in policy and have email correspondence from the V indicating that you can book a suite that is outside the current policy and you can get dcarp's successor involved, then yes you can book any suite under 400/500 and get the poker rate. But if not then you can do what the V website says you can do.

But if you want to start a "should I quit my All-Pro NFL QB career to grind 1/2 NL at Excalibur" thread I would be pretty interested in reading it.

We can only give the poker room rate on the Bella or Luxury suites. Concierge and Prestige level suites will not qualify for the reduced rate.

Hi Tom,

Is V also offering "normal" (smaller) rooms for other poker rates lower than the mentioned $119? Are there any rates for extended stay (4 weeks and more)?

Our standard suite is actually quite large. Unfortunately, that is the lowest rate we could give at that time. There are no additional reductions for length of stay. Sometimes, our poker rate will be lower but at that time of the year, that was the best we could do. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Okay, thanks. Sounds good anyways. Just hoping against hope.
