That was a rough Saturday. Bought a new phone for ~$330 after it was waterlogged(which I would later leave in an Uber) and covered my entire bottle at over $800 since I overserved myself. Our group of 12-13 guys crushed 6 bottles after not being sure about the $1500 minimum lol. Best man’s toe surgery and Any vomit room charges TBD

Saturday (or the Night of the Big Group Dinner During Which I Blacked Out and Puked)

Woke up Saturday morning and got a text that a couple guys were at the sports book. Called Best Man and he and Towel Whipper were eating in the food court. Wasn’t hungry yet and didn’t want to repeat last night’s mistake of getting too full and crashing so just got myself a free beer at a video poker bar and joined them.

We were recapping the night before. The two groups ended up going to opposite clubs by mistake. Best Man apparently got a tugger in the pool at Wet Republic. TW mentioned having different girls help him each time his shorts fell down there. Smart man. These are good dudes I’d consider having at my own bachelor party if I want it to be anything like Bachelor Bros.

We headed back to the room to change and hit Wet Republic again. I figure at least a few of us will get there early to beat the 1PM cutoff for line skip. Younger Bro isn’t really into the pool scene so I head down. I don’t see anyone in line but I figure I’ll go in and do a couple laps at least. Grab two bud light limes but don’t see others. It’s too crowded and dude heavy to have fun solo so I figure I’ll head back. Right at the end of a long ass line (that it’s a couple minutes too late for Exodus people to skip) a group of the guys calls out to me.

New character in the group I’ll call Matt Muer(MM) from that Superbad quote from Jonah Hill’s character in the convenience store “Look at Jules’s dating record…and Matt Muer he’s the sweetest guy. Have you ever stared into his eyes? It was like the first time I heard the Beatles” Another pretty mofo.

Another guy I’ve already met I’ll call ‘Member Chicago(as in Member Berries from South Park). We went out drinking in Chicago when BB,YB, and I were up there and had a good time. We would later do some good ‘membering about that night, thought I didn’t really ‘member the 3AM bar to which they smuggled me in the middle of the group to sneak past the bouncer. He’s a finance dude and also a social good dude like Bachelor Bro.

Also in line were BestMan, TW, Shady Solar Panel Salesman, one of the Roulette Bros, and O’Mally. As we get past the first wave of the line a VIP host. He said the last bed was available at a $1,500 minimum. We were debating whether or not it was worth $200 a piece. Can’t remember who was on what side but the “Ayes” were a little more confident and waiting sucked so we pulled the trigger. SSPS tried to name drop some other host. Not sure if he was trying to hook his friend up or get a discount, but the VIP host had never heard of him and just said “I work VIP here” Eventually the group shamed him enough to drop it. I’m not the only one doing facepalm-worthy behavior this weekend.

We had an incredibly hot bottle girl in a tiny thong bikini. As we got the table, she was in the middle of telling security to kick this Indian dude with a bedazzled shirt out because he grabbed her ass. MC tries to put his card down for the tab but his card gets declined. Don’t know if he was trying to trying to impress the bottle girl, but that sucks. He may legitimately have a shot if she’s not a seeking arrangement type of woman (pretty likely I’d imagine). MM lives up to his nickname and offers to pick it up. He’s a little shorter and younger looking so I don’t think he’s have as much of a shot despite those beautiful baby blues.

I’ve had my problems with drinking when I was younger. But nothing too major in the past 3 years. The difference? I started logging every drink in an app called Intellidrink, and stopping when I hit a certain BAC limit(.20 at first, then lowered it to .15 after some nights I wasn’t too proud of). Using my ‘spergy tendencies for my own good. There have been a few times when I had exactly one too many or forgot a random shot, but it’s been pretty effective. But the pool has already waterlogged my phone. My shitty Anker pool case is not nearly as waterproof as claimed. And every bottle service and pretty much every other time there have been empty bottles before I started tracking I black out.

After a quick dip in the pool, the first bottle arrives along with a few other guys. “No problem I’ll just have 3 doubles and call it” but it’s hot as **** and red bull vodka goes down fast. I must hit that limit in less than an hour and never really considered stopping. Our group quickly blows through the first couple bottles and over the minimum. As one Roulette Bro would later recount “I remember the first bottle pouring a normal two-ish shots of vodka in my mixed drink, but by the time I went back for seconds it was already gone”

We’re having a good time, a few ladies have flocked to the table, and the bottle girl is plying us with top offs. She probably locked in on this group of degenerates early vs. the bachelorette party and smaller mixed groups with beds around us. Still no sign of BB or YB. MM initial card hits the limit but JFK has arrived to get another bottle. At some point (possibly before JFK) she locks in on me as an obvious target. I’m clearly never going to say no to more liquor if I have $1 of credit to my name at this point. I pick up a bottle as well. I’m still sober enough to be skeptical of her recommended 25% $175 tip (20% for her 5% for bottle barback) and bump it down to $135.

I still haven’t eaten. It’s a hot day and a pool party so I want to go a little lighter. Chicken Caesar wrap with chips sounds good. I’m probably 4-5 doubles deep when I order it and am finishing my 6th as I eat it. At one point I joked to the bottle girl I must not be that drunk yet because I’m still getting a good pour. I remember eating most of the wrap, but I’m not sure I remember finishing it. TW later told me I liked it so much I was licking the dressing off the plate. Knowing my past I was probably good for another 4-6 drinks after blacking out, but perhaps it was less since I’m pretty sure I ordered the somewhere between 5th and 7th bottle(Adding it up afterwards our total actually came out to 7 bottles among 12 guys).

After the Pool

I awoke and realized I was in a bed in one of the adjoining rooms. Sanchez was passed out in the other bed. I walk into the other room and see an empty bed covered in vomit. I was informed that I did that. The toiler in the room I started in was also destroyed with puke.

One guy seems pretty mad compared to the others. Enough so that I call him Guy Pissed at Bobbo (GPAB) When you’re blacked during many of the social interactions there isn’t as much info to construct the nicknames.

GPAB and others start urging me to clean that up what else can I do but scoop the puke sheets off the bed, mop the toilet up with TP and GTFO. Only TW was later willing to sleep on that stripped-down bed.

I see a few guys in suits and think it must be time to go to dinner. Head back to room. I don’t feel horrible for how much I drank in the afternoon for some reason. No sign of YB. My suit is back from the cleaners so it must already be after 7PM. But the dinner goes until 10PM so worst-case scenario I can eat all 3 courses really fast at the end and everyone will laugh a little. Shower, shave, and make a quick 2+2 post without taking note of the time on my laptop.

Grab an energy drink on the way out, chat up some girls in the line, feeling good. Hop in my cab and realize I have no idea what time it is. I ask the driver.

“It’s 2 AM”

With my expression still somewhat like that I can’t think of a backup plan so I tell the driver to keep going to Stratosphere still. Of course Top of the World is closed by now. My phone is still waterlogged so I can’t contact anyone. I’m not even sure I can gamble here after being backed off at blackjack in 2016.
I’m starving and feeling self-destructive so I head to the McDonald’s I saw on the way in. I ordered an 8 oz filet with cheese, side of frites. No alcohol in this establishment sadly. I tried to get an employee to take a sad burger pic of me with her phone but never got the email.

Decide to walk my way back stopping to gamble and get beers. I didn’t know the Sahara was still open. Not sure I’ve ever played there, so I give it a shot. Quickly get stuck and in for $600 but dig back at the end to be -$45. Forgot how long playing a shoe solo takes since I’ve been playing double deck. By the time I’m done I’ve finished my beer. By the time I get to Encore I’m ready for a cab.

Decide to make it a fast food doubleheader and hit the “club Taco Bell” as TW was calling it. I ask to go to a Taco Bell near MGM Grand. The driver can’t speak English and thinks I said TopGolf. This is 4:30 AM well after it’s closed. I’m frustrated and figure I’ll walk back from wherever this is. Luckily it’s actually right next to MGM, which makes me understand the mistake. I’m actually feeling something healthy so I grab an overpriced ham and cheese from the giftshop.

The last few hours have made me pretty miserable. The hangover guilt is growing by the minute. In the elevator back up there are also two 30something black chicks and a few others, all of whom are probably having more fun on this night. As it hits my floor the heavier of the two black chicks says “Whoever gets off on this floor is a rotten egg” As I slump back toward my room, I hear her say “He seemed like a rotten egg” I feel like a rotten egg right now.

Get back to the room to make that last update and realize it’s now after 5AM. What the hell happened at the pool? Where the hell is YB?
