anyone know of some "miracle" airfare deal to Las Vegas? I think I saw JetBlue round for $100 from San Francisco - any word on a deal like this or better?

$100 SFO-LAS is 90th percentile IMO, get it ASAP. I usually pay $150-$200 for a summer ticket, the cheapest I've ever purchased was $110 and the cheapest I've ever seen is $80-$90.

There are no tricks beyond the usual battery of tricks. Use the metasearch engines: Sidestep, etc., and then search the unsearched airlines individually - Southwest, etc. If you work at a company, ask the admin who usually books flights what the best search engines are, and he/she will know.

If you're willing to fly out of OAK or SJO you might find better flights, but obviously the trouble of getting to the airports might not be worth the savings. Flying at times when other people don't fly will also save money - fly in Friday morning instead of Friday evening, leave 6am Sunday morning, etc. - but again, the trouble of an inconvenient schedule may not be worth the savings.

I'm flying SFO - LV for 88 before taxes (109 after taxes). Both United and AA had this exact same rate. That's about the cheapest you can get.

BTW Oakland and SJO were NOT better options for me. They often wanted me to fly down to LAX first, then fly to LV. Trip was like 5 hours or something.

SFO-LV like 100 bucks.

I got mine like 2 weeks out from Kansas City to Las Vegas @ $188 RT. Thats the cheapest I've ever flown there.

I'm not sure if SF has Southwest, if so look at their site... They have good deals... The earlier you book the better. Or you could just make the 9 hour road trip from SF to LV.

These are almost certainly one-way fares, not round trip fares.

My quotes are for round-trip fares, and I assume the OP's question was about round-trip fares as well.

$100 one-way = 25th percentile
$100 round trip = 90th percentile

And to the person who asked, Southwest does fly out of SFO, but OAK is a hub.

I've had good luck with using farecast (now part of whatever the hell Bing is) when planning trips. I don't think they have southwest in there, though.

Farecasting southwest is easy. Book as early as humanly possible. prices almost never drop and within 2 weeks of fly date the rates jump. no fees for changing tickets.

Edit: This special also includes one check bag for free saving you the 35$ it cost.

Allegiant flies from Wichita, KS to LAS for, I think, $29 each way. It ends up being like $87 with taxes/fees/etc. They only fly on Thursday and Sunday or something like that. I believe the prices are similar out of some other weird places like Des Moines, etc.
