I'm currently taking a week off from posting in my PGC as I am heading to Vegas for one week! It's the same as my previous trip report, http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...vegas-1471660/ but instead of 7 weeks, it's only one. I fly in Sunday and then fly out Saturday.

I'll be staying in North Las Vegas. I'll also be eating everything and anything that comes my way. As for partying, I'm not sure I'll be able to do much of that since I'm only there for a few days. If an opportunity comes up, I'll more than likely say yes.

I'll play cards here and there but food will be my main thing. I'll be playing 2/5 and maybe 5/T if the situation is right.

If you want to meet up and grab something to eat, maybe play some cards or shoot the breeze, PM me. Let's go!

Just checked into my hotel. It's a good to be back after having not been to Vegas for maybe two years (?) probably since that trip report. There wasn't any traffic on the 15N. As soon as I'm settled in, I'm going to make a quick trip to Wally World to pick up some things I need. Side note, where the heck are all the targets at? Maybe I'm just on the wrong side of town. Even though it's hot, I'm thinking of getting some Ramen. The eating adventures begin!

I thought North Vegas was all hood but I guess not. I ended up going north of Craig and Losee Rd and it's actually nice. Last time I was here, there were tons of empty lots and construction.

I end driving 20 mins to grab dinner tonight. I ended at Fukumimi Ramen for dinner. I heard about the honey kaarage but decided on their special Fukumimi Ramen. I could go into an indepth analysis but I'll just say this. I'd prefer Monta or Sora over this place for ramen.

My eating/activity schedule is starting to fill up. I'm open to any suggestions.

Go eat Pan Roast.
Probably eat steak at the circus circus spot. I'm looking for a place that is good value for my dollar yet is tasty.
Go watch Zumanity or Cirque or Absinthe.

There's a Target on 215 and N Decatur. I guess it depends on where in Northtown you are, but there should be some around.

Lunch was tasty. I went to Tacos El Gordo. I've been to all four now. Two is SD and the two in LV.

Adobada and asada. Also, Orange Bang is awesome. The secret to it is that it's whipped!!

I'm heading to the Golden Nugget for some poker tonight. Free parking for the win! And then plan to chill on Fremont until 9pm. Then some steak and lobster for $12 (?) at Tony Roma's! What up Las Vegas cheap eats!

Trying to run it up at 1-2 at the nugget. In for 2, up to

Waiting for time to pass and getting my energy drink vodka on. Free drinks while playing poker for the win!!

Here's a hand I butchered.

Straddle

UTG local pro (600) (winner in the game- big stack) limps. I limp MP Ah7h. Co calls. Sb calls. Bb calls. Btn checks. 6 ways to the flop

JhJc4h (24)
Chks thru

6h (24)
UTG leads 20. I flat. All folds
-I was either going to flat turn raise river, or raise turn, bet river on blanks. Maybe I should just raise/fold turn and b/f river?

2o
UTG leads 40. I raise 100. V snaps.

What's up with the cost of parking at the Golden Nug? $5 per hour with a max of $20 per day. Free with poker validation btw. I read about parking fees at Vegas hotels but good lord!!! Are there any casinos where there isn't a parking fee? I don't want to have to pay $20 just to play poker.

Dinner last night at Tony Roma's.

It's a cheap meal. The steak and lobster wasn't the best quality but for the $12, what can you expect. If you're in downtown btw 9-11pm and drinking, head to Tony Roma's for the deal. You'll think it's amazing, but then again when you're drinking, almost everything taste amazing.

Yes. The one on Fremont. And you are 100% correct, straight outta the bag/ TV dinner. It probably cost the restaurant like .10c for those veggies. At least I ate my veggies for the night. Lol

You'll never forget the time you went all the way to Vegas to eat grocery store brand frozen veggies!

'It's dam good.' Well, at the least the brisket was. Collard greens were a tad salty for me. The rib was okay. I wanted to get the beef rib but that would have been too much food for me. Rolling smoke Bbq duo plate with collard greens.

I would choose to eat rolling smoke over Memphis championship bbq and Famous Daves.

Quick poker session review from the nugget.

I opened in EP with AJ, AQ (3times) and 99 and got 3 bet from all unknowns (all within a short 2 hour session and snap folded. Each time, the person showed and I was crushed each and every time. They showed AA/KK/AK. At 1/2-1/3, 3b! are usually monsters

Last night, I went to South Point for some poker and a cheap movie.

I played an extremely short 1-2 nl session. The table was great. Open raises to $15 dollars and multiple callers. A few calling stations. No hands of note for me. A pocket pair or two that called a raise and whiffed the flop.

South Point has movies for $5.25 on Tuesdays. That's such a great deal. I saw sausage party. Youd like the movie if you like Ted and/or dick jokes. South point is a great place for value. Cheap movies. And on Saturday nights, they have the dirty thirty(?) which is a free comedy show.

I'm going to head to the Orleans to play some cards and contemplate dinner. That room usually has lots of games going but no 2/5. We will see how I do in Whatever the first game I get on.

The Orleans is a great card room. Lots of Omaha and limit games going on. It had a couple 1-3NL with a $500 max buy in. Good stuff.

I dropped a buy in with a combination of poor play and then a case of the run bad. My top set was cracked on the river to a four straight.

I ended up going to dinner at I Love Sushi. I can tell you that it was just alright. The place was overhyped. I ordered nigiri sushi a general range that included salmon, tuna, yellowtail and etc, sweet shrimp with heads, uni and egg. I was very surprised that they didn't 'dress' their sushi ie no/limited soy sauce; no wasabi and that you had to do it yourself. Because of this, I won't consider this a traditional sushi restaurant. That sounds snobby as hell but it's true. I'm not a master of sushi so how should I know how much soy sauce/ wasabi should be served with the rice and fish?

Besides this important fact, which is really difficult to get over, the Uni, Salmon and sweet shrimp were tasty. The others were not memorable.

If it makes you feel better, they don't put soy sauce on the sushi in Tokyo, either (at least, not at the places I went to). They do put the wasabi on there, but most American palates aren't used to the heat. The only place I've found that puts the wasabi on was Sushi on Rainbow, but they're closed now.

I lived in Japan briefly and the dressing depends on the fish and chef. It varies from place to place. I was sad when I didn't taste any wasabi though. I was shocked.

And you're right. American's palates are different.
