Do what pleases you to unwind and come back recharged.

I would take a nice large cuppa starbucks and enjoy couple of bellagio fountain shows and hit the bed for a good nights rest or catch a show/meal and relax.

76 suited is a great hand to smash over pairs when you hit the board. And you will definitely have live cards and unblock everything bro.

There will always be another game tomorrow.

There’s a Capriotti’s sandwich shop in the same shopping center, so I decided on that. I can get Capriotti’s back home, but I’m hungry and I’m here. And it’s nice to not be paying strip prices.

I'm unreasonably angry at this post.

Concur. I don't like waiting in line as much as the next guy, but after paying for an Uber to get there, we got confirmation that our desired destination is indeed awesome. Then we decided to eat a sandwich.

That not withstanding, TR delivers!

Got a good breakfast at IHOP, now I’m at Resorts World. 6th on the list for 2/5, but there’s only one table going at the moment. Dealers and new players should be arriving shortly.

There were lots of Asian customers there…. That’s how you KNOW it’s a good Asian place.

White people who post their meals on Instagram don’t always get it.

Resorts World was my favorite last year, obviously random but the vibe was immaculate and the table was amazing. GL!

I gotta stop slamming into a nasty cooler as soon as I sit down at this place. Ran KK into AA, but thankfully I didn’t go broke.

In for 1.7k, sitting on about 1k, let’s battle back

Going to save you time:

Order the beef noodle soup with shaven noodles. You're going to want to get the pulled noodles because you can see them making them, but the shaven noodles are the play here.

Also, the beef pancakes.

On an Asian food/Resorts World note, I like the claypot chicken place in the little food court there. Solid option for a quick bite.

Eh, rough day at the tables today. I suppose I was due for one.

So I run KK into AA the first orbit, which stung. I battled back some, but basically lost steadily over my first 4.5 hour session to be around -1.7k. I wasn’t feeling great, I wasn’t having fun, and the game I was in wasn’t very good. I wanted to take a meal break, but by then the list was over 40 people.

I talked to the floor, and put in for a table change. I’m allowed a 40ish minute dinner break if I’ve played over 4 hours, which I had. I moseyed over to the food court and got my favorite thing there, Goggleman’s Noodles.

This is his signature fried noodle dish, with shrimp, Chinese sausage, crispy pork, egg, and rice noodles. It’s really good!

I made sure to top up my coke from the fountain in the poker room instead of paying $6 for a 20 oz. Just the noodles was $18, pretty reasonable.

I felt better after eating, and my new table treated me better. I was in for 2.9k total on the day, and eventually I battled all the way back to unstuck! Then I wanted to take something for my time, and gave too much back.

Maybe it’s a sample size thing, but games are noticeably better after dinner time for normal people than they are before.

Anyways, I don’t feel like recapping hands. I played over 12 hours today and they kinda blur together. I didn’t love my play…. I can think of several river calls I made that were quite bad.

So all told, I was in for 2.9k, out with 1.9k, so -1000 on the day. Could have been worse…. And I also could have played a lot better.

Well, tomorrow’s a new day. I decided against playing the $800 deepstack, I don’t feel like trying to play a tourney all day. The great thing about cash is you can always pick up and leave if you aren’t feeling it anymore. Up OR down.

My goal for tomorrow is to play better at cash games, and get in a good meal or two.

Will there be any 4 card shenanigans in this thread or just this 1/2 card Omaha silliness?

Yeah I was thinking about picking a day to play 1/2/5 PLO at Aria…. Probably later this week

Looks like MGM moved the 1/2 PLO game to bellagio - if you happen to get there I’d love to hear if it plays the same as the Aria game.

Bravo lists 1/2 PLO as being available at Aria, dunno if that’s currently accurate. It’s also listed as available at the B. Regardless, if you play, TJ, I also want to know how it plays

Esther’s Kitchen is a family owned Italian place that locals rave about, and it’s barely a 2 block walk from my condo. Got there right at noon, and there was a 30-45 minute wait even for seating for 1 at the bar. Phooey.

So I walked across the street to a ceviche bar called Mezcla. It’s really more of a place to grab drinks, rather than a sit down restaurant. I got the roasted pork sopes, which is pork, refried beans, and cole slaw on a fried corn thing that’s closer to a pancake than a tortilla.

It was pretty good, for $18. It’s not really a meal though, so I’ll plan to hopefully play a shorter first session and get a proper meal later.

I’m 8th on the list at Paris in the WSOP, where they have the most dealers, and the list moves quickly.

Edit: brand new game starting now

In for 1k, let’s goooooo!

More bad results, -1141. This time I legitimately ran pretty bad. Flopped a set of 3’s in a large, multi-way, raised, straddle pot, but 4 diamonds ran out and I lost to a guy with TPTK and a diamond. If I get a better runout, I probably stack the guy.

Then I raise A7o from the button, and villain c/r me on an A-Q-7 rainbow flop. I flat, hoping the SB will come along, but the turn is another queen, and he shoves, so I fold.

Then I flat a 3bet from the CO with Ah5h, and flop 2-3-4. I flat the raiser’s c-bet, hoping to bring a spewy player along in the button. He obliges, raising 3x. The 3bettor tanks and folds, and I get it in with him. He has 3-5, and the river is a 6 so we chop.

All that said, it’s not like I played perfectly if only for those bad runouts. I can think of at least three fat value bets I called on the river with the worst hand…. Have to clean that up from my game. It’s spots where I have marginal showdown value, but the range of hands that bet there crush what I have if I stop to think about it.

Taking a dinner break at the Italian place across the street. I was apparently determined to get Italian today, lol.

If you’re at the WSOP in an event that’s going on dinner break, let me tell you about a secret.

If you go downstairs to the Horseshoe food court, go out the door, walk outside, and cross the street. There’s an old school Italian place called Battista’s Hole in the Wall (which it is).

I was pretty hungry, so I got the lasagna AND the chicken parmigiana.

The marinara sauce tasted especially fresh, and better than other places.

It’s got a very kitschy, old school decor and vibe. Apparently it’s been family owned and here since the 70’s.

My meal was $48, and it was way better than spending almost as much on crap food at the food court. It’s busy, but if you’re going solo you can usually get a seat at the bar.

That chicky parm looks nom nom! Cat loves the buttery eggy, but I’d rather settle for the finish product, especially if it has cheese and sauce.
