My wife and I are landing April 9th at 11:30am. Room booked at VDARA for four nights. Just the two of us. We are 40 years old and were here once before in 2011 and did all the tourist stuff.(Visit casinos, downtown, Grand Canyon, Celine Dion, Penn and Teller, Tim Allen)

On that trip we didn`t eat anything noteworthy and stayed at the Flamingo

Entertainment already booked:

Friday-Ray Romano and David Spade (Mirage) 10pm
Saturday-Elton John (Caesars) 10pm
Sunday-Brad Garrett (MGM) 10pm

Restaurants already booked:

Friday-Delmonico 7:30pm
Saturday-Sage 7:30pm

Also planning on eating at Five50, Gordon Ramey BurgR and Rolling Smoke BBQ.
Hitting up the Piano Bar at Harrah`s

I don't plan on playing much poker. Maybe Thursday night Tourney at ARIA.

Any input appreciated

Thanks
Mercer

WATBRI2014

I'm am above average Elton John fan and am pretty stoked. My wife is probably below average in Elton John listening.

She picked the weekend mainly to see Ray Romano and David Spade. I booked the rest around that.

I saw Elton last year at Caesars.

His music, of course, is legendary but his onstage chit chat, stories and rapport with audience was excellent and a surprising extra highlight of the show. The band was fantastic and included two drummers, bass player, lead, horns, and three backup singers. The bass, lead and one of the drummers are from his original band. Davey Johnstone can still really lay down a lick.

Elton's voice has weathered well over the years and he sounded great. Of course his piano playing was amazing and the song selection consisted mainly of his well known hits and classics.

5 star show.

First tip - watch your wife around David Spade and don't let her go backstage or to his room.

Second tip - Maybe audible on Brad Garrett's club but if it's a thing where you guys are going to see someone you're both a big fan of, by all means enjoy!

Third tip - Nothing, you sound like you're going to have a blast. Don't make an unexpected baby (with the wife or someone else)

I guess there was a third tip in there

Brad Garrett is the last ticket I bought. I was a big fan of his show Til' Death. I read the reviews of the show being raunchy and calling out the audience but got front row anyway.

and yes he is schedule to host that night. Wouldn't be going if just random comics performing.

Consider having a couple of cocktails at Level 107 - The lounge at "Top of the World", on top of the Stratosphere. Great views of the city....and a nice vibe. My wife and I really enjoy going as the sun is setting.

Hope you have a wonderful time.

I'm glad you mentioned cocktails snoop. I haven't been to Level 107. It will be on the list if we get away from center strip.

Has anybody been here before?

You should check out Mixed at Mandalay bay if you want a bar overlooking the strip

And the view of the strip from top floor Twin Peaks at PH is pretty good too, and the waitress just add to it lol

Yeah I've been to the Mandarin Bar. Classy joint when it's quiet. Annoying when they have some ****ty DJ trying to make it club-like. I don't know if they do that anymore.

Was hoping for a quiet place for an after show drink with a view. I'm too old and married for the club scene.

Mandarin Bar is great and drink prices not as pricy as you would expect. After 10pm, its usually not super crowded.

Usually these days its like a jazz band if they have live music. I would reserve a table just in case.

I also recommend the Mandarin Spa if you have some time to blow in the afternoon. Its not as large as some of the other hotel spas but the view is great and the service exceptional.

Having been to his show when he hosted, I can attest he is VERY raunchy and yes, he does take jabs at the audience especially front row.

I thought he was funny, but the wife really didn't like him.
