I often get the impression that dealer actions like this have the regs on their mind. Of course no way to know for sure.

I think you are spot on saying they handled it very well, good to see them taking it so seriously. I also agree I think you were lucky with the ruling, I always try to verbalise before I do anything but sometimes we all do things we know in hindsight was not the best way to do it.

Hope I run that good when I get there for 10 days tomorrow!!!

I'm shocked at that ruling. Not shocked that they're changing the rule so next time the hand gets folded.

Many poker rooms use the panacea of "intent" when making decisions..no mater what the actual rules may say. I have seen this happen many times at several different poker rooms in recent years.

Why have rules at all, if it is all going to come down to some lackey trying to figure out what the player's intent was? Not to mention "intent" is usually subjective from person to person..

Pretty sure the concept of intent is used when the rules don't cover a specific incident, as it did here. I think it's a great ruling in this case, unless for some reason op misrepresented the facts.

So did the Villian have the flush? Did he never show his cards or he just mucked them after you tossed yours in? Surprised he wouldn't just chop the pot and move on unless he firmly believed your cards would be ruled dead.

Did you read the part where the floor said he specifically did not consider intent when making his ruling, just that the rule book explicitly said card into the middle *face down* is a fold so he took that to mean face up is live?

I agree with what you are saying about intent. Just not sure why you were on about it here.

Villain didn't have a flush, or at least said so. We talked after floor manager was called but before shift manager had gotten involved, and he talked about how the pot should be his to reward his great bluff etc. When the shift manager was there explaining they were going to review the tapes, he took the opportunity to throw his cards into the muck face down.

I think it is safe to assume he did not have the flush as if he had, he just turns his cards over, wins the pot and avoids the lengthy and somewhat painful process he, I, the Bellagio management and the rest of the table had to go through.

Definitely didn't misrepresent the hand - no advantage in doing so after already outing myself as an idiot. 😜

Run good on your trip Gilmore. If you want to play some drunken low stakes with an idiot that causes all kinds of unnecessary trouble at the table (Just joking - won't be making this mistake again), drop me a PM.

So after the great meal that was Craftsteak, Watbri and I took our food comas to the MGM $1/$2. My $650 profit included winning a $400 pot with King high!

Tomorrow Watbri unfortunately has to head home. He's great company and I have thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with him, throwing some dice, playing pai gow and running good at the felt.

Also tomorrow I have an Aussie mate getting in to town for a week. First time ever one of my poker playing buddies has been able to join me for the Las Vegas / WSOP experience and I'm super excited.

Here's hoping you are all running as good at the felt as I generally am.

Job well done by the B. Great customer service to go above and beyond when a simple ruling would have "just got it over with" and on to the next hand. Imagine how many people you've told and have read this and how it will portray the Bellagio in a positive manner.

+1 on the Craftsteak. Had _the_ best dinner ever there in Feb. Food, service, wine/cocktails, all on point and worth every cent. Mouth watering just thinking about it again...

Jetlag or just Vegas? I went to bed at 3am and at 5.30am I'm still awake. I get up, wonder around for 15 minutes and then try to get to sleep again. 7am, I'm still awake and pi$$ed as I'm supposed to be meeting my friend at the airport at 11am and it looks like I'm gonna be hosting his first day in town on no sleep.

Next thing I know, it's 11.15am and he's already landed and my alarms haven't gone off. And all this is after getting a great night's sleep the night before that convinced me I had made jetlag my bitch.
