I played the 80/160 mixed game at Wynn the past few days, and I was told this game is moving to RW when it opens. The regulars in that game also said some of the organized big games from the Bellagio are moving there-many of the Vegas players hope that this is the demise of the Bellagio poker room. And according to the regulars I was playing with, the poker room manager used to run the room at Wynn/Encore, then ran the Wynn room in Macau, they all like him and said that he’s hired a lot of the good Wynn dealers. Guess we’ll know more in a few days…

Do any poker rooms in Vegas get 3 tables of any of those higher games? No. Do any poker rooms in Vegas get 3 tables of 2/5? Yes. That’s why you stop there. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out dude…

If I managed a poker room, I would choose to have three tables of 1-3 AND three tables of 2-5. Why would you not want the three tables of 1-3? 6 tables > 3 tables. For some reason, you can't understand that there is three casinos across the street from Bellagio, within walking distance that also have 1-2 or 1-3 games. So even if someone is staying at Bellagio, if they want to play 1-3 and Bellagio's lowest game is 2-5, they can literally walk 10 minutes to any of three other poker rooms.

There's definitely greater than three tables of 5-10 on a daily basis

Your points are dumb, obvious and irrelevant. Resorts World can attract a base of 2/5 regs by not spreading 1/3. Make 2/5 the lowest game and wealthier players will take an interest in the room. Otherwise it risks becoming another sad new room that can barely sustain a few tables of 1/3 at peak times and never sees any other action. Not offering 1/3 will increase interest in 2/5 and prevent that from happening

Your point is moot anyways. Luckily RW has an excellent and experienced poker room manager and will spread 1-3 2-5 5-10 and more.

It’s unfortunate that you think the new manager is going to send this room down a path that will lead to it seeing only a handful of 1/3 games and nothing else, ultimately costing him his job. Hopefully instead they will start the room off on the right path to being a poker destination but spreading 2/5 as the lowest NLH game

TBC flew in for the opening of RW, so you KNOW they are going after only the highest quality of clientele.

There’s basically zero difference between 1/3 and 2/5 for a casino resort. That might be different for a small local card room but if you run a place that might pay six figures in interest per day, that number is inconsequential. It’s not like 2/5 players are high rollers who splurge on the property.

The answer to your question if any room gets 3 tables of 5/10+ is a solid “yes”. Above that is where (semi-) private games start and they see a good amount of action. If RW wants to get poker players in the building who are able to make a difference on the balance sheet, they’ll go for the organizers of the big games at Bellagio/Aria/Wynn and pay them to move their games.

I’m more interested in what the buy-ins are going to be for the games. Will 1/3 have just a $300 max, $500 max or higher? And what about 2/5, 5/10, etc? We will see.

I would love for 2/5 to be the lowest stakes, but would be surprised if they take that route.

You’re right. Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. Caps are not quite as much as the Wynn but they are bigger than Aria and definitely bigger than at Bellagio.

For a high end room, I think a higher cap like $1000 for 1-3, $2000 for 2-5 and $5000 for 5-10 will attract more action and high roller. You really dont want any nit or OMC in your high end joint.

Anyone going to the opening tonight at 11?

Was gonna book a cheap room at harrahs, ballys, linq, anywhere cheap etc. and walk over to check it out but every room is through the roof tonight so that ain't happening. Rooms that are always 8 or 9 bucks during the week are going for 130 minimum tonight like they are the ones having the grand opening lol.

The Bellagio 5-10 no-limit game was once capped, went to uncapped, and then returned to its current $1,500 cap.

One of the primary reasons for returning to a capped game was the uncapped game became populated with regular 10-20 nlhe players. They liked playing super-deep with less risk. That caused the 10-20 game to stop running.

If he hired a lot of the good Wynn waitresses, then people would notice.
