You sound like youd be the first to declare it dead and so yeah probably best that you pass. If you could speak to Vegas’ manager it might be different.

Congratulations. I'm actually at a loss for words. We were arguing if ruining the aesthetic of a food court with a "the chicken place is out of chicken" sign was better or worse than making customers who ordered non-existent chicken wait in line twenty five minutes for a refund. You're arguing that complaining about that is a Karen thing to do.

My first job was in food service. I tip 20%. If a place is slammed and the waiter/waitress is hustling I'll usually tip more because I know it's not their fault and that other people will reduce their tips because of the slow service.

This wasn't slow service. This was "we didn't stress test our ordering system and we didn't design it right." They compounded it by not mitigating the issue and compounded it again by making people wait in a long line for a refund. That is almost a textbook example of "failure of management".

Stuff like that happens when there is a shortage of qualified managers who understand operations and customer experience. Instead they look at pretty pictures and say that's what their casino should look like.

It's an improvement from $1/hr, but if they actually wanted to steal market share why not go to $2.50/hr for the first year. I think it's better to exceed the competition rather then be on par or worse than the competition.

Especially since a dollar doesn't carry much weight there. Only time I've ever seen a food court without prices on the menus.

That's true with every multi-billion dollar property.

I am assuming there is no one above the poker director that knows much about poker and that he is being held back from making a real difference. I would have gone $3 at least short term on the games I wanted to build. So the 80/160 mix has moved from the Wynn to Resorts? Can someone tell me what is usually offered to get a game moved like this?

Right? When the Venetian opened up their poker room, their bigger games were comping $3/hour and taking time collections every hour instead of every half hour.

Ultimately, this still wasn't enough to pull the high limit action away from the Bellagio because it failed to get the whales to change rooms, but at least they made an effort.

I don’t see much of a reason for people to prefer this property over others in town though. I would rather play in a locals casino or something like the Aria or the Wynn, and judging by the number of games they run it looks like other poker players have reached the same conclusion. I suspect that is true for people that play the slots and pit games too.

And I think the poker room isn’t bad at all. I might play there more than I initially suspected because the waiting lists aren’t crazy long like they are at Aria and Bellagio, especially if they keep some 2-5 NL going. But I thought the rest of the property was pretty underwhelming. It looks great from the outside in my opinion and the mall could be interesting in the future, but it’s mostly empty so far.

As for the rest of the casino, I’ve been hearing more and more negative stuff as time has gone by.

Venetian and Wynn used to be $2 an hour but went to $1 and $1.50 despite food continuing to get more expensive. So this doesn’t surprise me.

Lol! I hadn't been sitting here for a whole minute when he starts challenging the guy to my right to go play heads up, and he's one of the best poker players in the world. If you don't believe him, google Ice Man. Unreal.

He's actually sitting on like 1100 in a 1/3. Don't think I've ever seen him over 100 bbs before.

The odds of him following through if some non total fish accepted his challenge are probably very close to zero. I haven't seen him in real life in maybe 5+ years but according to everything you hear, he's still a huge nit.

Was going to say he definitely looks like he lost weight. Which usually scares me as my first thought is there sick.

He lost that weight a few years ago. I remember playing with him at the Wynn back in 2018 and he looked a lot skinnier. It makes it much harder to recognize him.

Predictions: within a few months the $80 -$160 moves back to the Wynn. The organizer got a benefit for moving it to RW, but all of the players prefer the Wynn.

What was the benefit? How big is the pool of players for this game?

The giant “ice man” necklace might have been a clue too

Poker Atlas shows RW has a check mark next to “jackpots” now. Anyone got a rake/jackpot update? Haven’t been there since opening day
