This question is for the older posters on here. When was the last time 2:1 on blackjacks was spread regularly in Vegas?

it's a pretty new initiative for non-single deck. i'd say the strong migration to 6:5 is only a year or two old...if that.

last time I was in Vegas one of my more degen buddies left XS at like 1 AM to go play blackjack. Around 4 PM another friend and I are trying to make our way over to Drais for the afterparty (we had to catch a flight out that morning and were trying to stay up until the flight) when I start getting texts from the degen. Completely unintelligible except that he's still at the Wynn playing blackjack. I go over to find him and make sure he's not taking advances on his credit card or something stupid. As I approach the table I look at his stack - nothing spectacular. Maybe $1000 or so. But I notice that he can't even sit up straight. As I approach he looks at me, smiles, and reaches into his pocket. A massive stack of $100 bills spills out and onto the floor. As he goes down to pick it up I ask the dealer how much he has there. She told me he sat down with $400 and ran it up to $20k (thank god he had the wherewithall to cash out most of that and just play with what was left). I watch him hit on a hard 15 with a dealer 6 and other absolute idiocy for awhile before I gather him up, walk back to the room with him, then pack my things to catch the 8 AM flight out.

Yeah 3:2 use to be the norm, im asking about paying 2:1 on blackjacks. Was that ever the norm in Vegas? If so when was the last time you saw a casino giving out those odds.

Any? Most charity blackjack tables pay out 2:1, but generally the rules are the dealer wins on a push and you can only double on 10 or 11. I believe the house edge is around 8% (you can verify this on Wizard of Odds).

The question was whether Vegas has ever had 2:1. That I do not know. It would have to be way back in the early days of Vegas, if ever.

If we are widening the parameters to charity and the like then I know of a home game that pays 5:1

only 2:1 promos. circus have a 3 minute period of 2:1 bj, thats when you flat bet at like $100 per hand, because your playing with a 1.3% (from memory) advantage. +EV play.

Not blackjack but baccarat. Myself and 2 friends were at the hilton in Vegas a few years ago for some reason (place is awful) and decided to check out the high stakes room which was $25 min for bacarrat. We sat with $300 each getting free drinks and in about 2-3 hours I had roughly 9k my other buddy like 15k and the other one about 5k. We couldn't lose a hand and we were plastered it was awesome. At one point my buddy who was up 15k was betting 3k/hand ended up winning a few.

Ended up leaving with 7k my buddy 13k and other one like 4k, was quite the run.

I was told the European wheel added up to a higher number, but need to verify
