always a fun read; pulling for you; glad the situation with that whale worked out; he sounds like a scum bag and is lucky you're not a hot-head.

Day 2

It was almost 2am when I went to bed- I wake at 6am feeling ridiculously tired. I hit the bathroom and try and sleep more, but there is that little bit of my mind that knows I'm in Vegas and that's all she wrote. I know my friend likes to sleep in-I wish I could. It's likely I could stuck several grand more by the time he's even awake.

It's no use- I get up, grab coffee and hit the machines. Mine is still locked up from the previous night (had my doubts).

I play through almost 2k when on the last bill I pick up-

Which of course blanks off. Thought I had a save there. A few hands later, I'm dealt-

Visually impressive. So screen-punchable.

With the annoyance that locking the machine down is, I figure this is a good time to stop- I take the jackpot and ask them to lock it down at the same time. I head back upstairs less than 1k loser for that session.

Order room service breakfast, get cleaned up and start squaring this TR away.

Breakfast for one- scrambled eggs w/ cheddar, bacon, hash browns and a croissant. Computer w/ 2+2 open is to the left. I'm a sucker for breakfast food.

Finally at 10am I can't take it anymore- I go to knock on my friend's door and he texts me that he's up there and then. Good timing. He gets ready, grabs some coffee and we head downstairs to team up on UX.

We start off on fire and turn a pair of 9s into a 3k jackpot when it becomes quads on a 12x multiplier. And... my friend is hooked. I forgot to take a pic. A little while later, along comes-

Gah. My friend is happy- me not so much. The worst hand came in on the biggest multiplier, we hit quads in two spots but w/out kicker, no multiplier, etc. To me, this is one that got away.

We get the same big draw soon enough-

And this time it's blanks all around.

We're funneling in money pretty fast, when we make-

Gah kicker!

I think we finish up that session slightly ahead. He decides to go play slots and I bump it up to 10-play! We finished off with a ton of trips that I didn't take before pics of, and that didn't finish. I figure if it's gonna give me those trips, let's get more shots at making a hand.

Right out of the gate, I get-

And blank every spot. Come on.

We're supposed to meet up with my nanny for lunch at noon. I stuff every bit of profit from that joint session back into the machine. The plan was to meet at Allegro, but they're closed so we walk over to Encore for Wazuzu.

I may have mentioned this before, but we actually met my nanny though this friend so we're all connected. We have a great conversation, so good that I completely forget to take pics again. We got the panang curry (7/10), baby bok choy and the miso black cod (also 7/10). After lunch, my friend and I head back to the luxury boutique event so I can actually place the order for the air hockey table.

Passes for me and a guest.

The table I want is 795 credits and I have 750 to spend. I assume I'm going to have to pay for the remaining 45, but when I go to settle up they just comp the remaining 45 as well. That was a nice touch! Having gotten that out of the way, we head to hi limit for another joint UX session. It is generally cold save for-

It's pretty sick how fast the money can go at UX. Even w/ that 4k hit, we finish the session even. I convince him to play some dice for old times' sake!

The dice tables at the Wynn are super-crowded or 25/50 min pass line bet. As I'm already annoyed at the double odds, if I'm going to shoot I definitely want a low min even though I'm planning on placing 6 and 8 for a minimum of 90$ each. LOL trying to get value while simultaneously being a degen. We decide to head to the Encore. There, we find a 10$ table with a decent amount of space and move on in. I buy in for 2k, he's in for 1k. My placement next to the dealers and crowd was such that I didn't want to try and surreptitiously take a pic, sorry folks.

The session was... choppy. We had a few rolls with a few 6s and 8s, typically after I placed 90 each multiple hands before and got whacked out, then scaled back to 60 each. Of course, the 60 rolls were decent. So standard. The dice come to my friend- he insta-outs and I give him the requisite amount of ****. Now it's on me- I actually have a decent roll and get the 6 and 8 up to 240 each and hit a point of 10 (with 20$ odds behind LOL), but never make it off the tarmac.

We play for a bit more. I'm bored, honestly. There's just basically no chance of making a monster bink. I say as much to my friend and it turns out he's bored too. Confirmed- I'm not a dice player any more. We color up small winners.

In for 2k, out for 2.1.

We partner up on the regular TDB machine and try 10 play.

Only draw of note, and nothing hit.

My friend has had enough- he goes back to slots, and I scale back to 5 play. First hand out of the gate...

OF COURSE when I stop 10 play. OF COURSE it's an 8 getting in the way of an ace. Whatever, bring it in!

BLANK. ADIFSIADSF

I'm just getting crushed. I think at this point I'm down almost 10k. I need to take a walk.

Random shot of the decorations.

Having cleared my head a bit, I assess the situation. I have about 2k left to play which is nothing. However, I do have access to 5k more at home. I don't want to pay the ATM fees, obv so I call the folks- can I borrow 5k from them and pay them back? They say yes, obv, so we briefly head to my parents' and I grab a bankroll infusion. Now I've got 17k in the game but I mentally feel better bc I've got more bullets. I decide to play UX- if I'm going to make a score, it's going to be there!

I stupidly put 2k in and hit nothing. Draw after draw misses. I'm down almost 12k now and dinner is at 7:30 at SW. I'm just dejectedly pushing buttons. Get dealt total crap and throw away all five cards. Make-

Spoiler:

WOW! Look carefully- held no cards as I said, made a premium hand on the redraw w/ a 4x multiplier.

Instantly rejuvenated. I cash out and meet up with my friend for dinner. Sure, I'm down over 3k but with that hit it feels like a total recovery.

For dinner, I go with the Ohmi NY strip (can't do the rib cap yet again), my friend gets the ribeye and we split asparagus, potatoes au gratin and the lobster gnocchi.

Seated outside this time and the weather was perfect for it.

My snow beef- 8/10, probably bc anything gets old after a while.

Friend's ribeye- also 8/10. The pepper rub they put on it was perfect. Asparagus was 7/10.

Potatoes- 9/10.

Gnocchi, also 9/10. Competed with the potatoes for best in show.

Afterwards, we try another joint session and it is just pure ice. Again, several draws, all of which miss. Several aces turn into 4, but no kicker. My friend wants to hit slots again and I play solo to no avail. I head upstairs relatively early (before midnight) exhausted- I just can't catch any sustained heat and have been giving money back too fast from the few hits I've made.

Day 2 result- -5k
Overall- -11k

To be continued...

Aren't there weird prop bets now that you have a 1 in a bazillion chance of hitting, that pay a third of a bazillion?

(Those dint exist when I played craps)

They've had the "all small" (hit 2,3,4,5,6) "all tall" (8,9,10,11,12) and "all" for some time now, and they've made it suck. I used to play it and it was fun when the halves paid 35-1 and all paid 175-1. I can't remember what the disadvantage % was before but it wasn't that bad for a fun prop bet. They've changed it to 30-1 and 150-1. FU wynncore- I'm not THAT much of a degen.

small/tall pay 34-1 7.76%, all pay 175-1 7.47%

small/tall pay 30-1 18.3%, all pay 150-1 20.61%

i've made some back to back binks on ATS so back when they paid out better - for sure not a bad bet to make if you wanted to degen a little

now it's the dumbest bet to make - even hop bets are better

I'm assuming this is SW Steakhouse? Is that place Andrea's new? Seems like a mix between SW and Mizumi. Have you been there? Worthwhile?

Totally man. When I played in Sept that was the one bet I was actually looking forward to making- totally deflated when I saw the new payouts. When I see people making that bet now I know they don't have a clue.

Yeah if you read from the beginning you'll see I basically started off as a nobody, living off comp granted to my parents. In the last 2 years or so all my play moved to the Wynn, my dad's host became my family's, and my play got a lot bigger. So I can usually get RFB, some amount of free play and invites/offers to special events (most of which I usually have to pay for though, eg slot tournaments).

Yes, SW. I don't think Andrea's is new- we went there with friends I want to say, 2013? It's Asian fusion. I don't remember the menu that well- I seem to recall the food was decent, but the friends made it no fun (they were watching their budget and we had yet to rate RFB. I was able to get them a room only and had no food comp myself to use- but to watch them pinch pennies when their room was already paid for...)

From what I remember it's certainly worth trying. The decor was really nice.

No, as far as I know the strategies between TDB and the UX version aren't vastly different. If there's a difference I'm not aware of, I figure I'm giving up fractions of % EV in the long run if I make a mistake. The hard part is staying away from UX!

There are a few big differences. Biggest one is holding Q65hhh over like QJo for example. Or 2356 instead of a high card.

Well, for 9/7 TDB you'd hold Qxx suited over QJo as well. I wonder if 2356 is still correct vs an ace for TDB UX?
