Day 1, part 1
So I'll try and incorporate all of the info without rehashing some of the pics I already posted.
I ended up getting in just a few minutes ahead of my nanny- I actually saw him in the security line! We had made separate reservations and our flights were supposed to get in 1.5 hrs apart. With the delay in my flight and rungood on his, it ended up being pretty close.
Got to the Wynn, checked in, dropped bags off and immediately hit the machine. At this point, I started what I had hoped would be a great live session but my phone was on life support. I texted my nanny and let him know to just meet me at the machines (we were going to get in a joint session) and then brought my phone to the room. I posted a few pics from the aborted live session, nothing great obv.
The Wynn is all done up for the holidays...
Once my nanny arrived we went in for 1k total- him 200, me 800. That session was pretty frosty and I felt bad, mostly bc he doesn't have much money to gamble with. I know getting him to play a 99%+ payback game is better for him in the long run, but 1$ TDB is still swingy and if we're on the negative side of variance... suffice to say it didn't last long. He's hungry and wants to go to Red8. I made sure to eat prior to leaving San Diego just so I could start playing immediately, so we go our separate ways.
Now... at this point the craziest thing happens. I know Gobbo was hoping to meet up yesterday and had he been there for this, who knows how this trip might turn out. But as you'll see, what happened next will influence things for the rest of the trip. As I write this now AM day 2, I have no idea if it'll be bad or good...
I decide my phone has charged long enough and I don't want to miss pics of any hits which are hopefully coming. I leave my card in the machine and all my stuff, and put an ashtray on the seat. It should be obv to anyone that I'm coming back. Head back to the room, grab my phone, head back down. When I return, I see-
- the machine next to me, which was locked up, is now unlocked and there's an older guy standing by it along with some slot attendants
- MY machine has been cleared of my drinks, there's no ashtray on the seat, and my card appears to be gone!
- old guy is trying to play my machine as well!
I walk right up and say I was playing this machine and I had my card in. I was polite but firm. This old guy literally starts dropping F bombs on me- "F you, you weren't here, there wasn't a card, I'm playing both, etc". WTF. I try and explain that I had a card and my stuff in, and he immediately starting swearing again, says there was nothing, he's playing both, etc. I tell him I am PLAYING on this one and he can have his. Slot attendants come in to deescalate.
He continues cussing at me- I said, "I'm not looking to make trouble, let's talk about this reasonably" and he responds "oh, you're in f'ing trouble now, you'll see". The slot attendants let me speak. I choose my words very carefully. I say, "I'm not saying he did anything. All I know is I literally left 5 min ago and left my card and the other stuff. I come back, my stuff is gone, and now he wants to play both. We're both guests here- it's not fair that he gets to play 2 machines and I get none, esp when my card was in". Mind you, he's playing 10 lines, 5$ credits and has 20k in his machine, so I surmise he's some ******* high roller used to getting his way.
The slot attendants politely ask/tell him to only play one machine. I immediately thank them, card in, and sit down. He literally ignores them, only to say, "we're leaving anyways. F him". I ignore him. The guy left two waters on my machine- I politely say, "would you like your waters back?" and he responds "F you, just play and leave me alone". I shrug and move the waters- man, I was so tempted to "accidentally" spill them on him while giving them back. We play alongside each other for about 10 min- god, if ever there was a time I needed to be dealt a royal or 4AWAK it was then- just rub it in his face, etc. Unfortunately not to be. He decides to leave at that point and again locks his machine up.
AS SOON AS HE LEAVES, both slot attendants come to me and apologize profusely. They know me and my dad and I know them. I tell them, honestly, that I know it's not their fault and it's fine. All I ask is the Wynn call it fair and they did, and I thank them for that. They smile and make a point of saying "we'll stick up for you. Some guests think they can do anything, and of course he's a valued guest (read, whale) but...". I again thank them and say no problem.
10 min later, the slot manager comes over, again to apologize. I say exactly the same thing, but also realize this scenario could repeat itself over this weekend. I ask the manager if, "given what just happened", I could lock my machine down. Insta-yes, no questions asked. I don't know if they'd normally do it for me, but given what happened they were more than happy to oblige.
About 5 min later, with my adrenaline still surging (if that happened on the street I don't know if I could have held back from hitting this guy), I manage a nice bink-
YAAHH!!
The same slot attendants come to pay- BIG SMILES on their faces. I think most of the time they're just feigning enthusiasm, but man, coming on the heels of that interaction... all of us were happy I was getting paid.
My nanny finishes eating right then and there- sees my hit, I bring him up to speed on what just happened. We're planning on going to view the luxury boutique items available for purchase tomorrow at 6pm. My window is 5-6:30p, plenty of time and I want to play. So he leaves to play on his own and I'm slightly up now.
I keep playing- it turns really cold. My nanny comes back- he's not doing well either. We decide to go at 5:30 rather than 6- I have my doubts if I'll even last that long. With my friend getting in later that night I really am trying to not blow everything right out of the gate. So I keep at it, playing slow.
Finally got a premium trip draw to come in. I think had 2-3 draws prior to this that all missed.
I figure this is a good stopping point. They pay, I ask them to lock the machine down. I meet with my nanny and we head to the item viewing- I'm up almost 1k and feeling good.
So, you can see now how for better or worse I will basically only be playing on that machine (as opposed to the other one) this trip, and have less ability to just get up/come/go when I please. Every time I leave the machine now, I'm locking it up. I've gotten in several more sessions from this point in the TR and having to lock/unlock the machine each time definitely is going to affect session length, timing, etc. Oh well- let's hope it turns out well. At a minimum, I'm not going to get shut out of playing, and F that guy- even if I prevent him from playing 2 machines I'll consider it a win.
This is a good stopping point.
To be continued...
