There is, but it's a horrible part of town. Try south of the strip at Oasis

I'm going to try the Oasis...looks nice....thx for the tips!!!

btw I was intimidated by how big this thing is but after a few hours on Interstate I was having coffee in 1 hand...cell in the other....steering with my knee. They make these things so they are idiot proof to drive...(err stopping fast is not as idiot proof)

I paid bout 250k after the in motion satellite dish & the dishwasher was added.

It is very nice...nicer than my house haha...finally got to Mesquite today so trying out the air conditioning for 1st time. Man the weather in Nevada is nice...Pocattello Idaho last nite was 35mph wind & snow....driving the interstate was blowing snow/reduced visability/winter conditions.

Nevada much bueno!

How much use are you gonna get out of this home on wheels? 250k is a big chunk of change!

Eder,

You could probably do a nice OOT Ask Me Thread.

What is the depreciation like on these things ? Cost/mile ? Do you rent them out via a 3rd party to offset costs the way some people with boats etc do

Those who have never owned one have no idea of the freedom and the ensuing power you feel with an rv. Tooling down the highway or anywhere for that matter is exhilarating. You can park, eat, drink, sleep almost anytime anywhere.
...and I paid $5k for mine.

Well atm we will near full time for the next year. Our plans are to donk around Nevada area for the next month. We'll spend May back in Alberta then return to Vegas for WSOP.
July we'll head north to Alberta and start across Canada over 2 months ending up at Halifax.November we'll head south from there to end up in Floridafor the winter

Next year we hope to get organized & chase the baseball circuit and see how many ballparks we can dry camp in.

...my house is for sale now which may free us up even more.

I'm pretty sure this thing depreciated 20% driving it off the lot & if looked after will be worth perhaps 60% after 5 years.

I dont think I would rent out this unit...it's just a large luxury splurge and shouldnt be treated as an asset.

This is my 1st RV and I'm pretty much a noob about the lifestyle, would be a poor choice for an ASK ME thread.

Naw satellite is just so that our tv reception works while driving. I use Virgin pay as you go 3G stick...not sure what is a better choice for a Canadian w/o USA address?

I don't normally drive like this, but it is unreal how easy it is to drive this barn on wheels.

An ex-GF had a much cheaper version. As it ages, the various systems require maintenance/refurbishment. It can be expensive to get these things fixed, and difficult to find qualified repairmen. Start studying the systems, keep a maintenance/repair log, order frequently-failing parts in advance, and learn to do as much as you can yourself.

Also, be very, very careful whenever the beast is in motion. Lots of essential stuff hanging down close to the ground that is expensive to repair/replace.
