Sorry for posting an entirely new thread on this, but I can't for the life of me find any reliable info on what the current state is at Monte Carlo given the redesign. It's officially under construction now correct?

I'm due to stay there in a couple of weeks and was hoping that someone who's been there recently can comment? Are the restaurants open (I've read they aren't, then the Mlife website says they are)?

I guess what I'm weighing is whether or not to look for another location. Thanks guys.

I think they are under construction. I know the City of Dreams or whatever the passageway to Aria is boarded up.

I do know that if you stay at Monte Carlo as a guest, you are allow to visit any sister MLIFE property's pools

Current state is Nevada.

In Trooper's latest video it looks like they are doing some remodeling and moving restaurants around, maybe closing some and opening new ones. If you're staying there and everything is closed (unlikely) it's not like it's a long trek to other hotels and restaurants.

Well done on the rimshot!

I guess I'm not worried as much about convenience to other casinos/restaurants as I am about how annoying and loud construction can be. To your point, I can easily swing over to Aria (assuming the causeway is open), but it'd be nice to be able to tolerate home base for more than five minutes. I remember I made the huge mistake of staying at the old Imperial Palace while it was in transition...disaster.

Thanks all!

I will never stay ther until they add wifi to the rooms.
Actually I will probably never stay there even if they get wif in the rooms.

It might work well for people looking for reasonably cheap accommodation near the Aria poker room.

Have they started offering wifi recently?

I remember having a bad hangover, trying to play some Ultimate Texas Hold 'em at Cosmopolitan while watching football and sweating my low-$ sports bets above the table, and there was some horrible drilling going on behind the table...not fun.

Speaking of Monte Carlo does anyone know what is the current state of their 9:00 am and 2:00 pm donkaments?

What is the average number of runners each tournament gets these days?

Thanks for any info..

They had WiFi on the 14th floor when I stayed there on a comp in June It wasn't fantastic, though it was useable.

Just left this morning. In terms of the hotel, it's cheap but functional. Nothing is "nice" about the place, but it's clean.

I had an "arena view" room on the 30th floor, which meant it faced SW. The windows are so bad, the first night I got up, thinking maybe one was cracked a bit due to the I-15 traffic noise.

Internet not great. Eventually things download. Paid for in resort fees.

The buffet is pretty bad. Had two as part of my package. Dinner was terrible, breakfast was o.k.

Wandered into the Double Barrel place out front Halloween night, that was pretty nice.

Played a little poker the other afternoon. It's pretty dead in there, but nice dealers and recreational players who kept an enjoyable atmosphere.

As stated above, they're apparently sending people over to MGM pool this time of year.

In terms of the redesign, I didn't notice construction except on the side between NY NY and MC; they're building some kind of theater in MC on that side.

When facing MC from across the strip, the upper-right corner is (mostly) green, so that must be part of the new theme.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm going to stick with MC and see what happens. Hard to turn down 5 comped nights...
