Question!!

Why do people who play poker feel the need to live with other poker players?

When I first moved to NY to work in finance, I didn't say, "roommate must work in finance!!"

In fact, I am pretty sure most people in most professions don't do that.

You are implying there is life outside of poker.

because most of them are maladjusted nitwits fresh out of mommy's womb with semi anti-social tendencies fed by a lower self esteem ideology that requires a need to feel legitimized by being constantly around other people with similar social shortcomings... either that or they just want to save money and talk poker 24/7.

because you're around them all the time at the tables... reality is, some need to get a life. Try to get some outside interests.

poker is solved... make timely plays, make timely adjustments, put in the seat time... what more are you wanting to discuss really?

Talk poker with people who are GOOD, whether they live with you or not doesn't matter

Also remember to expand your non poker skills.

Learn about basic things like the difference between you're and your. That's MUCH more important than poker.

answer!!

When i rent out my spare room, i prefer to rent to poker players because when you room with someone that has a typical 9-5 office job, there tend to be gross schedule conflicts and bad feelings because they think (or some do) think you don't "really" work.

Ive also roomed with club promoters and other people with non traditionally scheduled employment and it works out pretty well, too.

So no, you didn't say "I want to room with someone who works in finance", but i imagine you were at least thinking that you wanted to live with someone in a similar financial situation to youself -- a person with a 9-5 white collar job.

birds of a feather.
