With late food at Westgate book, and pretty good runs at the Venetian, we did not really leave to eat dinner until around 11 or so. Thinking of late options and making our way back to downtown, we settled on Peppermill.

A drink at Fireside Lounge, usually at wee hours of the morning, is pretty regular for our trips, but this time I think we made a huge mistake in getting food there, too. Just not the right place for it. That kitchen serves diner food - you should eat it out in the Peppermill dining area.

All told, the weakest food experience of the trip. And I hate to waste my Vegas food experiences.

I had thought about hitting someplace on Spring Mountain Road (Raku, maybe) and in retrospect I wish we had, with a cocktail at Fireside Lounge after that.

It is at around this time that I start thinking, man this is only Friday.

Friday table games at the D were not kind. The $175 win from Thursday went right back.

And that includes a bad run at Pai Gow. Pai Gow.

But on the positive side I was carded by a Pai Gow dealer. Fishing for tips? Maybe. It worked.

So having taken that beat, we went back to the Golden Nugget for more poker early Saturday morning.

Now I am going to get all serious.

I have to say I was not feeling it from the moment I sat down. Just not a good table vibe. People talking politics, making verbal jabs at one another. Not a good vibe. Even though I doubled up through one of the louder players when my tens made a set against his paired ace, I was not enjoying myself.

Then this happened. A table broke in the back of the room. And a player from another table called out "send over the pretty one!".

I look back, and sure enough, there is a younger attractive brunette at the table. Sure enough she looks extremely uncomfortable. And sure enough she racks up and leaves.

Street harassment is no way for anyone to behave. Under any circumstance. It is all the more galling for a poker room to tolerate one patron harassing another.

To the credit of the brush, he agreed with me when I told him what happened, and he looked as upset as I would want him to be.

But the dealers at the tables allowed this to happen. If the floor knows it is unacceptable, the dealers should know, too.

I racked up and left myself.

Saturday morning we walked to Glutton at 7th & Carson for breakfast.

This is the Glutton Mary, served with kimchi. I think it was real fermented kimchi, too, and not just pickled stuff, because the drink had that effervescent quality to it.

The waitress recommended the huevos rancheros strongly, so three of us got it.

Delicious.

thumbs up to Glutton. Bet it would be great for dinner.

We spent the day Saturday in an odyssey to cash out people's previous sports bet tickets from Friday (did I mention how much I prefer the apps?).

Highlight by far was stopping for drinks at Vesper at the Cosmopolitan.

People watching there is great at night thanks to nightclubs, but the dayclub pool crowd is not bad either.

Dinner on Saturday night was at Andiamo at the D.

This was a great dining experience. Andiamo offers white table cloth dining served by staff in white dinner jackets.

You get a classic old school feel with well prepared steak entrees and Italian classics.

The wine list is extensive and there are plenty of options under $100.

That wine service with aeration and decanting will make you feel like a boss.

Outside of wine, we basically asked our waiter to just take care of us.

We started with the Andiamo meatball and portabello mushroom appetizers.

The meatball is huge, but somehow still extremely tender, and topped with a bit of ricotta cheese.

You can optionally get beef with the portabello dish, but I think the mushroom itself has the consistency and flavor of a beef dish thanks to the balsamic marinade.

Those two were hits, but the table side Caesar salad preparation is worth the trip.

They absolutely start with raw egg and anchovies. After finishing making the dressing and dressing the full ribs of romaine lettuce, the salad is topped with more anchovies and generous shavings from a block of parmesan.

Honestly, you could make a meal just from that salad and the meatball appetizer.

But we also got the tomahawk ribeye (cooked perfectly), a lobster tail (huge and maybe a bit overseasoned, but so flavorful), and osso buco.

All of it was fantastic.

There were four of us, and our server easily could have taken advantage of our request to just set us up. But he limited the appetizers and entrees to three, which he proceeded to divide and serve at the table.

I have nothing but positive things to say about our dining experience there, and would love to return for dinner again.
