Yes, asked and answered many times. Search the forum and find all the people telling you to stay at Imperial Palace. I'm not one of them.

That's THIS weekend, because the 3-day weekend makes Sunday flights available for the discount fare. On a normal weekend it's $179 each way, before they add taxes.

Trying to book my house for the summer (4-5 Br for 2 weeks). Where is the best place to look in order to get a good deal and not get scammed? Looking to spend no more than 700/person total and start around June 8th

I caught a TV show the other day that had a panning shot of Vegas. Between Casino Royale and Harrahs was a riverboat-looking building. I had never seen it before in all my Vegas trips. The only thing I can seem to come up with via web search is that it was the Harrahs casino, and that in 1997 they abandoned the riverboat theme and went with the carnival theme (which likely involved structural work, explaining why it doesn't appear there now). This theory is reinforced by the fact that I caught a street-side sign for The Sands in the near corner.

What is throwing me off is that this TV episode taped in 2006. Was that actually Harrahs casino pre-1997, and they just used an old shot?

We're staying at Bill's at the moment, between Flamingo and Ballys. Good location, rooms are okay, and pretty well priced. I think around $40-60 during the week, with no resort fee added

About a week or so ago i found a link to a forum thread where people listed the latest room promotions. I have been looking for ages and cannot find it anymore - does anyone have the link?

Anyone know the best place to change currency on the strip... Im guessing there's not much difference in the rates offered between the casinos, but just in case...

Old (very old) file shot. It was the Holiday Inn originally (with the riverboat theme), then became Harrahs and they kept the facade until 1997, as you mentioned.

It was the Holiday Casino. I don't think they were affiliated with the Holiday Inn chain.

It was the Holiday Casino adjacent to the Holiday Inn, and no I don't think they were affiliated until Holiday Inn bought Harrahs in 1980 (who had bought the casino).

My sketchy internet research, anyway.

Question: I will be visiting Vegas in early March, staying at Treasure Island. My flight coming home is at 7pm (only one available), check out for the hotel is probably around 11am, anyone know how easy it is to get your checkout time extended? I don't want to be stuck hauling luggage around all day since I won't be going to airport til the evening. I was thinking if I could get it extended from anytime between 3-5pm that would be great. plane leaves on Wed 3/10.

Thanks!

check out and leave your bags at the check in, bell hop area, then you can give them the ticket to pick up your bags before you leave

Some hotels have a late checkout policy for an additional charge. Check with TI to be sure.

pflwardog's suggestion is probably what you'll need to do.

Coming from Europe (UK) wheres the best place online to get good Vegas deals for the summer? (10 days late in July) If it makes any difference we may be popping up to Seattle after and either flying home from there or Vegas.

Not looking to spend a ton but want to do it right (first time for everyone). Thinking hotels like MGM, Caesars maybe Luxor? Am I on the right track?

On a "doing it right" scale of 1 to 10, I'd put Caesars at a 7, MGM at a 6 and Luxor at a -28264. Spend some time poking around this forum to get an idea what hotels you'll want to be at. Caesars biggest problem is that you can usually find a better hotel at the same price. Luxor's biggest problem is that it's a ****hole.

As for deals, typically the best hotel price will be from the hotel itself.

I think Flamingo has it all, its cheap with a great location and aint too bad at all.

Defo recommend upgrading for a Go Room. I've just got back from 10 days there. Bargain.

3 people, budget isnt strict but we're looking at $1400 max for flights plus rooms per person (7 days now not 10)

MGM is looking like the best bet and it seems to have favourable reviews, unless we get some sick deal at somewhere better.

Thanks for the help guys.

Quick (and probably obvious) question about security.

Does every hotel room have a safe? Group of us staying at the Flamingo, then at Harrah's.

Assuming that each room does have a safe, how do the logistics of using that safe work? Does the hotel generate an individual code for your safe for each period of occupancy?

Many hotels have safe deposit boxes at the front desk and/or the cashier cage if you want a high level of security. Most hotels, even the lower budget ones, now have the small electronic safe in every room. When you check in to your room, the safe will be open/unlocked. If you want to store something, you place it in the safe, close the door, enter a four digit code (of your choice) on the keypad, press "Lock", the safe displays the message "Locked", then displays the code you entered, and then the display shuts off. To open, you enter the four digit code (you have to remember it because you chose the code), press "Open", the safe is unlocked. Voila!

If you forget the code, security has a master code that will open/reset it.

I'm flying from UK to Vegas in April, got flights direct with BA non-stop to LV for just under £400 per person

Great deals on Venetian via HotelClub.net I paid under £1000 for 9 nights in a Venezia Bella Suite (2 Queen beds)

Under £900 ($1400) per person
