Only specific casinos can issue ITINs, not most.

Is it considered safe to walk from the stratosphere to Fremont Street during the daytime?

The area North of Stratosphere isn't very nice but I've never felt unsafe there. Others with less tolerance for sketchy might disagree though.

Distance vice I'd say Strat to Freemont St. is roughly the same as Strat to the Wynn.

Answering my own question because I was in Vegas this past weekend. DoorDash to the aria was an absolute nightmare. The driver I believe was new and they do not tell you on the app where to meet the person. I even asked the driver where they wanted to meet me

you're more than okay walking from strat to fremont... there are just some unstable folks around that area sometimes, don't interact with them. During the day that is downtown governmental and high traffic business areas... zero issues.

Looking to book a hotel for December.

Normally stay at Ballys which I believe is the Horseshoe now.

Excalibur, TI, Linq, Flamingo and Harrahs are my cheap options. Horseshoe is my next step up.

Should I just stick with one of the cheaper options or pay the few hundred extra for the Horseshoe? Just a week long trip focused on Poker. Going to play Wynn and Aria the most.

I think you should look at your offers and see what makes most sense,,
I have been basically living in hotels for the past year and change (divorce etc) , alternating between mgm/cet/boyd/circa and station casinos,
and to me it makes sense to stay near casino you play most at , from nyny its a 15 minute walk to the aria poker room, excalibur 20,

TI is really close to wynn , so pick that if you want venetian/wynn/resorts world as your poker spots.

and if horseshoe is a couple hundred more, i would 10 out of 10 pick flamingo and just walk the 7/8 minutes to horseshoe

there are also people in the community who sell rooms at certain casinos , so see if you got some connects there..
300/325 for 4 nights (friday thru tuesday) or so.

I think it’s fine. I’ve done this walk before, go down South Main not LVB. Most of South Main to Fremont is the revitalized Arts District, with some fun bars, breweries, restaurants. The last 1/2 mile stretch is little desolate but still don’t think it’s a major issue, just use common sense.

Anyone have thoughts on good jobs for people that want a flexible schedule for poker mtts if they move to vegas? I assume uber driver/ amazon flex/ etc are only options for a create your own schedule?

not sure but might try to move to vegas if i can buy a condo in full cash or close and just work a few hours a week for income and then play poker the rest of the time.

Also might just try to get a job at a utility company there like my current job but i find the job postings for nv energy and southwest gas to be meh. I would be fine taking a pay cut to move to vegas but haven't found any jobs similar to my current role (im a designer for a utility company in a union). Feel the jobs are rare and require a lot of time at a company.

Thanks for any thoughts. Think my life would be happier if i moved to vegas or close by as i'm starting to sour heavily on upstate ny.

Worth mentioning:

Bellagio's 5-5 NL game, 400-1000 buy-in, is capping the rake at $3 till the end of 2023.

What's going on there? I know they tweaked cash game buyins but this makes it sound like the 5/5 game is struggling? Are people just moving down to 2/5 and the rest move up to the bigger 5/10?

Was that ever a big game? TBH I saw 5/5 at Bellagio only pretty recently for the very first time. Did that happen when they increased the max 5/10 BI to 2.5k? Since then I can't remember ever seeing more than 2 games at the same time.

i think so, yes. bravopoker says
"Bellagio Poker is changing the buy-in for select games. Effective 08/31/2023 we are offering the following selections. All other games will remain the same.

1-3 NLH $100-300
2-5 NLH $200-500
5-5 NLH $400-1000
5-10 NLH $800-2500
10-20 NLH $2000 minimum
"

i've never seen 5-5 run before then at bellagio, but maybe i missed it.

to me it seems that they're just trying to establish the game and the rake reduction might be enought to fill a few more chairs.

Me neither and I've played a decent amount of 2/5 and 5/10 at Bellagio over the last 15 years.

Bellagio announced that they were offering 5/5 NL on 8/31/23 (and increased the 5/10 NL max to 2.5k on the same day). The 5/5 NL game ran every day for the following week or so, and then appeared to have died out after that (based on random days I happened to check Bellagio's Bravo).

Anyone know if the connecting walkway from Vdara to Cosmo is open yet?
