What is everyone's favorite romantic restaurant on the strip?

I will be in town next month on my honeymoon and would like to find some nice places to take the wife.

We've been to vegas together multiple times, the trips usually just involved drinking and degening. Her favorite thing on the strip is the fountains for sure, if that makes a difference.

I haven't been there so can't exactly recommend, but there is a (French, I guess?) restaruant in the Eiffel tower at Paris casino, right across the street from the Bellagio fountains. Sounds ideal for you.

Is there any kind of food you don't like? It would not do if someone suggested a place with food you don't like.

Was mainly looking for a romantic spot to grab a great steak, but would be open to most anything as we love trying new things.

We aren't at all that familiar with Asian inspired food, so I thought it could be fun experience given the number of them on the strip.

Italian and french would be fine too. Just looking for somewhat quiet with a nice ambiance.

For Asian check out Yellowtail in Bellagio. It overlooks the fountain.

Yellowtail is not quiet, romantic, or nice ambiance.

If it's Asian food you're after, your best choices are all off the strip.

Have you found the fine dining thread yet?

Request to MOD:

If possible, could you move my original post and relevant replies into a separate thread please?

Post numbers are 11991 to 12003 inclusive.

If you need a thread title I'd suggest 'December Vegas trip for newbie from UK'

Thanks

Best way to get a mod's attention is using the report post button. Otherwise you're at the whim of whenever they decide to read the thread.

Thanks latimer and poker addict

The first post in my thread doesn't really make sense now and I can't edit it...
Hopefully people will realise and get past that...I may post an explanation but that might muddy the waters even more lol.

Anyway, thanks again.

If you have to ask, you'll never know.

i should have phrased the question as: whats the easiest way to not look like a reg/grinder to the fish?

im not gonna drop 5k on a watch or jewelry, but i can dress a little nicer and order a beer and basically not drink it. i never talk strat at table. open to any other suggestions

The easiest way is to play bad...I doubt that you like that answer either though.

Seriously, I don't know how you want to look or even exactly why, but you could observe the players you would like to resemble and start acting like them. However, the good players will still soon figure out you are good if you are playing well, and the bad players probably won't play that different against you regardless.

i really hope you don't take this the wrong way, but this is a silly question. just make the game fun and have fun.

I don't understand the emphasis that Vegas regs put on not looking like a reg. Many of them will straight up lie to your face about where they live and what they do for a living. It's really weird. I wonder if it's because many of the rec players are tourists (complete poker noobs). Where I play everyone knows there are professionals in the game and it's no big deal.

Oh BTW, most of the Vegas grinders are absolutely terrible game hosts. They don't table talk much/well. Everyone is just buried in their own little world. Pretty sure most rec players would rather play with talkative pros that make the games fun than a bunch of dudes claiming to be rec players but are just staring at their phone the entire time.

augie, i definitely try to do that mainly by talking (nevertheless, ones appearance is not unimportant). but its like what phil laak said... what is gunpowder? gunpowder is nothing until you put a match to it then boom. if no one else is willing to talk its hard to have a conversation.

neverloses, i completely agree with your whole post. i randomly ended up watching a very old poker after dark on youtube recently, i think hellmuth, negreanu, matusow and some others were playing, and i realized how crucial their table banter was to making it fun and entertaining.

Do you have trouble relating to people elsewhere in life? Your posts make it sound like that's the main problem. Nobody here can give you lessons on how to be a social human being, which is what it sounds like you're asking for. I'm sorry if that's harsh.

Prob been 3 years since I've posted on 2+2.

wow time flies.

Quick inquiry...

Wife and I are going to head to Vegas beginning of December for 4 or 5 days.

Canadian dollar is crapola obv.

Prob easiest (and cheapest) to just buy a package deal from caa or redtag or something I'd assume but am open to other suggestions like booking flight and hotel seperatly.

While we're down there not sure whats still relevant as far as things to do.

Havent really looked into going for 5 years and haven't been since 2001.

She loves food so is Lotus of Siam still around? or Namaste? are these places still known to be good?

Worth it to rent a car for the 5 days if I plan to head downtown and out to dinner a few nights and drive through like Valley of Fire Park and goto Hoover Dam and then back one of those days?

And suggestions for a show to see? Like a Cirque show that doesnt cost me $500.

I remember Ellis Island had a breakfast special and a steak special but can't remember if it was a pile of ****e or not.

Hash house a more reasonable choice?

We don't even know where we're staying yet but likely Flamingo or The Linq or something will be central and cheaper I assume.

Thanks for any feedback.
