Not sure if this is the right place, but what's the consensus on the best 'lounges' on the strip - a place where a group can get a seat, some cocktails but also dance (even if there's a table minimum).

a buddy of mine (honestly) was kicked out of encore beach club two summers ago for a fairly minor offense - not fighting, not dealing etc etc but nonetheless informed he was 86d for life and would be arrested for trespassing in future etc etc. what are the chances they'd actually track this type of thing and give him hard time there in the future? or was that just talk to give him a scare.

A major casino will very likely have a process for this type of thing, so it's highly unlikely to be a bluff. I've heard others in similar situations say that a conversation with management fixed the issue.

Have your friend send an email, reference the incident and date and ask for permission to return, if only to apologize again. Best chance of clearing it all up.

Call the hotel and ask.

It will be difficult, but you may be able to do so by paying in cash for the rooms in advance. Plus you will likely have to surrender an additional security deposit that would be returned when you leave, if there are no additional charges.

Hey,

7-16th of June I'll visit Vegas for the first time. The last two days I booked with Excalibur. For the past two weeks, a room including breakfast at Bally's (7th-14th) would cost me €495. Since a few days it's suddenly at around €750, also at Expedia. Any explanation on the sudden 50%+ increasee, does anyone know if it's likely that the rate will drop again?

I don't own a 'real' creditcard. However, I do own a Net+ Prepaid Mastercard. Is this fine for checking in at the hotels? Can they put their daily $100 hold on that, or only if it has a big balance?

I'm thinking of staying here and grinding the WSOP real hard this year, any comments about this hotel?

i stayed there, albeit quite a few years back. easy walk to rio during the day. it's a dark walk at night tho. i'm not saying it's unsafe, but i wouldn't want to bink a tourney and walk back with the winnings.

it was clean and fine for what i wanted, which was a cheap place with a kitchen. the only safe is at the front desk, so you have to go there to access it. it's 24 hours but still annoying.

Yes. Most likely your card will be treated as a 'debit' card, they will put a hold on it, the balance on the card doesn't matter as long as it is >= amount of hold. You will be read, or you will be asked to acknowledge, the standard debit-card language about how it might take several days for the hold to be released and for any remaining money to become available to you.

Can anyone speak to the safety and time of walking from the
Tuscany to the nearest strip casino(I assume its
Bally's), especially at night through the AM. Thanx

Its about a 15 minute walk to the strip itself, 13 minutes to Bally's. You can get to the ferris wheel in about 12 minutes from which its an easy walk yo The Flamingo, or through O'Sheas into the Linq and over to Harrah's.

Always been safe for me. Never did that walk that late at night. Stay alert and you should be alright.

Incidentally there are bus stops in font of Bally's and Tuscany, for the 202 going east, going west you cross the street near Tuscany's and get off at Ceasar's after crossing the blvd or stop early to walk north on Linq lane to the ferris wheel. Buss is $2.

Thank you for your reply! Don't feel too excited for a $700 hold on my Vegas-roll so I guess I won't charge anything to my room then.

Hey guys,

5 of us will be in vegas for a few nights in June and we are looking at places to stay. None of the others have been before, they seem pretty set on a penthouse suite or equivalent. I think they have their eyes set on the Mirage. However, all the suites seem to be 4 person max, is this like a strict rule or would it be fine to have 5 of us in there?

Also, any particular suites anyone would recommend? Would like to be on the strip, no more than $750/night preferably. The penthouse and tower suites at mirage are what we've found so far, but having trouble with trying to book on their site so can't check prices.

Mirage suites are good. Why would you want to put 5 people into a room with one bed though?

Second bedroom is just a regular room that is adjoining. Has none of the benefits of a penthouse suite other than that it is connected to one. If that's ok with you, then that's ok. But the bedroom alone in the suite will be as big as the whole other room, and has a bathroom that is bigger than some apartments I've lived in. So, someone is going to win and someone is going to lose.

I see, thanks for the information. Do you think the hotel would have an issue with 5 of us staying there?

yeah, We never say how many people in room. one time at PH the guy actually asked how many room keys we wanted when we checked in, we asked for 5 and he did not say anything.

other times, we just do the forgot room in card thing, but it just has to be the person registered to the room that can ask obv.

Enjoy your first time in Vegas! The $700 hold is so you don't starve after losing your BR on day one, although at Strip room-service prices this could be tricky. Try the cheese quesadillas.

If you add names to the room any of you can get new keys. That's the primary reason for adding the name of the buyer if you sell a comp room, so they're not screwed if they lose their key.

Pretty much what Combo-Prof said.

I have made that walk dozens of times, would say it's about a 10 minute walk. It's well lit the entire way, and I've never felt unsafe. That includes late night walking.

If you are at all concerned about safety and don't want to take a cab, you can always just pay $2 and hop on the 202 eastbound bus at the stop on the south side of E. Flamingo, just past the escalators for the north/south pedestrian overpass. The bus makes a stop right in front of Tuscany.

There's another stop across the street from Tuscany that can take you to the strip. It stops just west of LVB, on the north side of Flamingo, in front of Caesars. Probably easier to just walk.

Red dots show where the bus stops are:
